Barracuda's 2026 Internship is reserved for students currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and does not require work authorization, now or in the future. This role is hybrid based out of Chelmsford, MA and required on site days Tuesday and Wednesdays.

We are seeking a driven, eager to learn Data Engineer Intern to join our Data Engineering Team. As a Data Engineer Intern, you will help us with data monitoring, data quality and data pipelines. We want someone who is a self-starter, passionate about technology, and excited to learn something new. 
  
  
 Tech Stack  
  • Very good knowledge on Linux Systems 
  • Very good knowledge on Databases Systems and SQL 
  • Knowledgeable on Networking Fundamentals 
  • Knowledge of any one language like Python or C. Scripting language preferred. 
  • Good understanding of Application layer protocols like HTTP/HTTPS, SMTP. 
  • Knowledge of application security domains will be an added advantage. 
  • Knowledge of Data Engineering tools is an added advantage. 
  • The candidate should have very good oral and written communication skills. The candidate should be able to communicate ideas to others in the team. 
 
What you'll be working on 
  • Assist in building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines to collect, clean, and transform data. 
  • Work with cloud platforms such as AWS to support data infrastructure. 
  • Help design and manage data models, schemas, and storage systems (SQL/NoSQL). 
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability. 
  • Participate in developing and optimizingdata workflows for performance and scalability. 
  • Assist in code conversion using AI tool, like GitHub Copilot 
  • Contribute to documentation of data processes, pipelines, and architecture. 
  • Support efforts related to data ingestion, processing, monitoring, and quality checks. 
  • Assist with building dashboards or data tools as needed

The anticipated on-target earnings range for this role is $24 - $36 per hour in Chelmsford, MA. Actual compensation offered will be dependent upon the individual's education level, job type, and applicable employment laws.
