The Accounting clerk will support the Controller and Senior Staff by assisting with accounting and reconciliation tasks, ad hoc projects, conducting control and process reviews, and month-end and year-end close procedures.
 
Responsibilities as an Accounting Clerk:
 
  • General ledger accounting including:
    • Account reconciliation
    • Customer payments recording and application
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial close procedures.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports
  • Customer account setup and onboarding
  • Find and resolve financial accounting discrepancies
  • Collaborate with AR/AP team on projects.
  • Support compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
 
Accountabilities and Performance Measures:
 
  • Financial Reporting Accuracy:
    • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, including journal entries, general ledger postings, and financial statements
    • Strive for minimal errors in financial reporting to maintain the credibility and reliability of financial information
  • Timeliness of Financial Reporting:
    • Meet deadlines for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes
    • Ensure timely completion of tasks related to month-end and year-end close procedures
  • Account Reconciliation and Financial Controls:
    • Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
    • Implement and maintain effective financial controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud

Required Competencies:
  • Software Proficiency:
    • Experience using Excel and accounting software to record transactions, generate reports.
  • Account Reconciliation:
    • Skill in conducting account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial transactions and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

  • Time Management:
    • Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-Solving Skills:
    • Ability to identify accounting issues, analyze root causes, and develop solutions to resolve problems effectively
Education:
 
  • Minimum of Accounting associate’s degree Preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in an accounting role is a plus
