About the Role:

The Senior Assistant Warehouse Manager supports and oversees daily receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations. This role serves as a key operational leader within the warehouse, managing people, processes, inventory flow, and system accuracy while acting as a delegate for the Warehouse Manager when needed.

 

What You'll Do​

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring accurate transactions, system compliance, and process adherence
  • Control and manage the pass-through of product to our other facilities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation
  • Own the Amazon-to-consumer business, including inventory flow, fulfillment accuracy, coordination with internal teams, and performance monitoring
  • Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by coordinating and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures
  • Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling, assigning, and overseeing employees, and following up on work results
  • Oversee warehouse staff performance through coaching, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling results with the data storage system
  • Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing layout improvements, inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair, and submitting requisitions for replacement
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by following and monitoring security procedures and protocols
  • Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by enforcing adherence and escalating compliance needs to warehouse leadership
  • Contribute to overall team success by accomplishing related operational results as needed

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven work experience managing warehouse operations and inventory
  • Expertise in warehouse procedures, best practices, and material handling processes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage staff
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to safely handle materials using proper lifting techniques, pallet jacks, order pickers, and forklifts

 

Physical Demands:

  • Continuous standing and lifting/lowering
  • Intermittent walking, use of hands/wrists, and bending/twisting
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, and crouching
  • Must be able to carry 1–40 pounds
