POSITION TITLE: Digital Merchandiser - Backcountry

REPORTS TO: Digital Merchandising Creative Manager

BUSINESS/COMPANY/DEPARTMENT: Creative

LOCATION: Park City

The Backcountry Digital Merchandiser will work within our product listing pages, marketing campaigns, & email promotions to ensure accurate and appropriate product placement throughout the Backcountry site.  The ideal candidate has an analytical mindset, ability to extract data to make decisions, attention to detail, creative perspective on how to present products,  desire to improve site user experience, and is self-motivated.  This role provides an opportunity for the candidate to further their career at Backcountry, while interfacing cross functionally with Merchandising, Marketing, Creative, and Product teams.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

        Daily campaign management and visual collection merchandising

        Create and maintain optimal product placement through internal search and navigation utilizing commerce search tools and daily product boosting

        Build rules pages for sales, promotions and featured product to drive sales and margin dollars

        Complete site campaign and email QAs for sales and full price collections; give final signoff on campaign including identifying incorrect product, broken links, inventory concerns & other customer experience issues

        Full ownership of MDF campaigns, sales, & full price stories; working cross functionally with Merchandising teams to recommend featured styles, collaborating with brand managers on campaign layout & user experience, rules page creation, final campaign signoff 

        Build & manage product boosts & blocks on search, category, and rules pages to ensure premium product placement through all product browsing paths

        Analyze sales, sell-through, and search results to inform product placement through internal search and navigation to ensure increase of revenue

        Identify opportunities & execute on creation of internal search synonyms & redirect rules to ensure accurate, unbroken search results

        Site merchandising maintenance; report observed product-mapping, taxonomy, content related irregularities and take appropriate steps to resolve issues

        Manage the Unsited Report with Product Data Teams; troubleshoot issue SKUs & appropriately site products to the correct categories

        Coordinate with buying team to identify key/flagship SKUs for optimal product visibility in collections, promos and marketing efforts to align style selection and brand image

        Track internal search KPI’s & report weekly, have ability to speak upon your business and results in a group setting

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

        Visual merchandising or retail experience required

        Bachelor’s degree preferred

        Proven knowledge of outdoor apparel, gear and their technical features

        Interest and understanding of the Backcountry Brand aesthetic and customer

        Excellent organizational and communication skills

        Ability to perform under pressure and prioritize competing tasks

        Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical skills
