POSITION TITLE: Marketplace Analyst         

REPORTS TO: Marketplace Manager



The Marketplace Analyst works directly with the marketplace manager, as well as other cross-functional leaders in operations, merchandising, owned brands and planning. They participate in an array of day-to-day marketplace support needs from compliance and feed management, to sales and margin analysis. Together with the marketplace manager, they will ensure profitable growth and maintenance of the marketplace sales channels (Amazon, eBay, etc.)


  • Work with marketplace team to ensure all daily marketplace operations tasks are completed
  • Recap business performance vs budget and comparative timeframes. Interpret and analyze trend changes
  • Monitor channel partner compliance metrics, policies and data integrity as assigned
  • Build, analyze, and deliver sales reporting as needed to internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with marketplace leadership and merchandising team to meet vendor reporting and communication needs
  • Work with buying team to discover assortment recommendations, developing brands and key item projections
  • Find, root-cause, and resolve listing issues across marketplaces
  • Enhance customer shopping experience by inspecting and improving listing copy, visual merchandising, and shipping settings
  • Drive profitable operations by helping to develop and action product selection rules
  • Complete selection listing changes as required due to MAP guidelines, merchant strategy and/or vendor guidance
  • Discover and participate in channel training opportunities
  • Perform all other marketplace duties as assigned



  • Be an eCommerce marketplace enthusiast
  • 2+ years experience in ecommerce retail
  • Functional retail math skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • You should have a passion for ecommerce and online marketplaces
  • Exhibit a desire to learn in a rapidly changing environment
  • Be willing to pivot your workload as channel partner procedures change
  • Accurately represent your knowledge and be willing to participate in your learning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excel Analytics skills are a must
  • Ability to work via influence with shared cross-functional teams


  • Experience in eCommerce – preferably working in eCommerce at a brand or working for a marketplace (e.g. eBay, Amazon, etc.) in brand management or similar (i.e. 1P)
  • Looker Analytics experience
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
  • Experience in buying, planning or merchandising, or related analytical experience highly recommended
  • E-Commerce business development experience
  • Online marketing experience
