Description

The Laboratory sample-receiving Technician performs laboratory procedures related to sample and material receipt, shipping, and laboratory maintenance. The Laboratory Technician I is responsible for performing duties in accordance with established methods and protocols.

NOTE: Tuesday-Saturday 

1. 1. Performing Job
      • Receives and evaluates the condition of samples and determines if appropriate documentation was submitted
      • Logs samples into laboratory tracking database using the information on the chain of custody form
      • Assigns sample report ID number, creates labels, and acquires laboratory forms required for testing
      • Ensures samples are stored in appropriate conditions until testing begins
      • Receives reference standards and laboratory materials and initiates the appropriate quality control testing
      • As needed, performs administrative duties such as copying, filing, scanning, and answering phones
      • Assists with shipping of equipment and materials and with conducting general laboratory maintenance activities

Preferred Work Experience:

              One year of professional work experience
               Employment in a Laboratory setting

Education:

Required: High School Diploma
