Job Summary

 

 

The Logistics Lead will assist the logistics manager with the delivery and transportation of cannabis infused products. This includes using Leaf Logix and MJ Freeway to prepare orders, update manifests, build routes, and file paperwork.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Print out Apex orders, find associated batches and prep the packages for delivery.
  • Process and double check all MJ Freeway manifest for the correct driver, date, destination, tags, and van information.
  • Move final packed product from packaging into the vault, check for correctness in the software.
  • Organize the vault and deliveries so that they are ready based upon the delivery schedule
  • Create the itineraries for the drivers so they know their route for the day and approximate times that they should be arriving at each location.
  • Relay delays in deliveries to the logistics manager or logistics assistant manager.
  • Gather all bulk flower by lot for wholesale customers based on the invoice, audit and weigh each package, and split the MJ Batch if necessary.
  • Schedule van maintenance and assure that vans are kept up to date on all inspections.
  • Manage driver schedules.
  • Update Apex with status of deliveries.
  • Be flexible to fill certain positions, as needed including packaging and driving when necessary
  • Assist third party transfer services with questions and concerns.
  • Come in as early as needed to make sure that all deliveries are prepped for the day.
  • Be ready and available to answer questions as needed when drivers are on the road.

Qualifications

  • Logistics or scheduling experience.
  • Excel (2+ years)
  • Prior cannabis experience a plus
  • MJ Freeway or Leaf Logix
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-Motivated
  • 21 years of age and authorized to work in the US
  • Ability to multi-task

 

Education

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Equivalent combination of work/education experience accepted

Experience

  • 1-3 years

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience working in Cannabis and with cannabis systems. 
  • Experience in highly controlled/regulated products. 
  • Background in a warehouse and supply chain environment. 
  • Background in a fast-paced sales environment. 
  • Professional Certification

Direct reports

  •        Manages department within a function with authority to hire/terminate

Working conditions

 

The person in this position may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there still may be exposure to some degree. Must be comfortable in Warehouse, Manufacturing/Production, and office environments. Must be willing to delegate properly and, at times, work off-hours to ensure deliveries and sales run smoothly. 

 

 

Physical requirements

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods as well as move about inside facility. Labor
  • Positioning or moving items of up to 50 pounds. 
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment such as phones, printer/copy machine, etc. 
  • Frequently communicates with staff, vendors, and clients; must be able to exchange accurate information. 
  • Capable of operating vans or box trucks if needed.
