JOB DESCRIPTION 

The Product Breakdown associate is responsible for breaking down bulk flower into sellable units. These units may range from packaged flower or pre-rolls. The Product Breakdown associate is responsible for weighing in bulk flower when it enters the facility and assures the accuracy of the weight against the state-controlled system and invoices. The Product Breakdown associate is responsible for properly destroying waste materials in accordance with the Cannabis Compliance Board. The breakdown associate reports directly to the Inventory Supervisor and / or Inventory Lead but may be asked to provide support to other departments as well. 

Because our stores depend on the Product Breakdown associate presence to operate, punctuality and the ability to work a complete scheduled shift in the assigned store on a regular, predictable basis is an essential function of this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Arrive at work on time for scheduled shifts and engage positively with customers and associates throughout the duration of the scheduled shift. 
  • Comply with the company’s attendance policy. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in all areas of the facility, making sure all inventory is put away, secured and the area cleaned. Maintaining areas that they are up to OSHA and compliance codes. 
  • Provide bulk weight information to the inventory supervisor to enter new product into the system. 
  • Record and document all bulk flower to be converted to be giving to the inventory supervisor. 
  • Communicate and maintain the area in and around any waste product that that needs to be destroyed. 
  • Provide regular reporting as required by internal operations and state requirements 
  • Cooperate with AYR Compliance officers and the State inspectors to perform random inventory checks. 
  • Lend assistance as needed by the AYR Wellness business. 
  • Ensure bulk flower is stocked and organized in its designated area ready to breakdown or convert. 
  • Ensure that Metrc ID tags are located with the correct product within the vault, and sales floor at all times 
  • Special projects as assigned

SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED   

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task. 
  • Ability to work within a team and on an individual basis 
  • Flexible availability to meet the needs of the business (including evenings and weekends 
  • Commitment to arrive for scheduled shifts on time and maintain consistent attendance 
  • Wearing proper attire that is set by AYR Wellness 

REQUIREMENTS/PREFERRED EXPERIENCE  

  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) 
  • Minimum of 6-months Cannabis Familiarity 
  • Must stay current and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Cannabis Compliance Board and company policies in the areas he/she operates 
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws relating to key areas of responsibility 
  • Must be able to secure Nevada Agent Card Registration with the Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board 
  • Must be 21 years of age or older, and be able to pass an extensive background check 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Able to use a computer for extended periods of time 
  • Ability to stand on feet or sit for extended periods of time 
  • Ability to have extended cannabis exposure, with no adverse physical reaction 
  • Ability to use repetitive use of hands, wrists and forearms 
  • Ability to see, hear, speak and write English clearly to communicate effectively with customers, employees and visitors  
  • Fine visual acuity with the ability to adjust focus to inspect closely, ability to see color 
  • Normal vision or corrected by use of glasses and/or contacts for normal reading and viewing abilities to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, or to make general observations of facilities or structures 
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to meet job and operate equipment requirements 
  • Requires normal range of hearing with the ability to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound   
  • Ability to twist, turn, bend, stand and walk as required to perform the duties associated with functioning as a dispensary manager 
  • Pushing/pulling/carrying, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally 
  • Able to move about a typical office or retail environment 
  • Able to perform general administrative activities 
  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally 
  • Regular, predictable, and on-time attendance for full in-store shifts between the hours of 8:00 AM and 11:00 PM on a regular scheduled basis.  
  • Hours may exceed 40 hours per week

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

Work is performed mostly in both retail facilities. The working area may be odorous at times and loud, fluctuating between cold and warm temperatures. Involves frequent contact with staff. Work may include dealing with law enforcement and occasional State inspectors.
