Job Summary
The Electrician ensures the integrity and reliability of the facilities electrical and control systems in the Maintenance department. This position will be responsible for executing electrical and instrument tasks safely, efficiently, and effectively by functioning both independently and as a team to troubleshoot and solve problems. The electrician will be responsible for keeping up to date one-line diagrams, and panel labeling. The Electrician will work closely with contractors performing large scale projects to ensure compliance and understanding of system being installed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Keep generator, lighting, and electrical systems in working order. Diagnose problems and then repair/replace defective parts.
- Need to act quickly when a breakdown occurs, must be able to tell management whether the problem can be corrected and whether business can continue as usual. If regular activities must be stopped, the electrician will have to estimate how long a shutdown will last.
- Make periodic inspection for new electrical services (120v, 240v and 480v three phase), including wiring, conduit, panels, breakers, contractors, relays, timers and controls
- Performs electrical maintenance and repair work; install/replace fixtures, switches, receptacles and wiring.
- Operates a variety of standard power tools, equipment and trenchers in electrical installations, maintenance and repair activities on a regular basis
- Maintains records and logs as needed
- Keep up to date documentation.
- Log work into a CMMS system to ensure equipment maintenance work is recorded
- Perform other various tasks as instructed by management. Must work in a safe manner on a daily basis and ensure that all safety measures are taken at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Flexibility to work overtime, on-call and weekends, as required
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining various components and systems including 12 to 24V control systems
- Computer literate using Microsoft office and Outlook email
- Experience using a computerized maintenance management system
Qualifications
- A valid driver’s license is required
- Must be 21 years of age or older
Education
High school diploma/GED required
Experience
1-3 years electrical application experience required

Working conditions
- The person in this position may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree
- Must be able to accommodate scheduling that may include varied shifts, weekend and some holidays. On-Call availability outside of usual business hours is required
- Occasionally works in outside conditions that include exposure to inclement weather, heat and humidity
Physical requirements
- Sitting, standing and walking motion/movement will be required throughout the shift
- Frequently ascends/descends a ladder and uses scissor lift to inspect/maintain equipment
- Occasionally works in outside conditions that includes exposure to inclement weather, heat and humidity
- Occasional lifting, positioning or moving items up to 100 pounds
