Director of Procurement

Job Summary
The Director of Procurement will be responsible for building and leading a strategic and integrated procurement function that optimizes new and existing vendor/supplier partnerships to maximize value to AYR Wellness while reducing costs. Reporting to the COO, this individual will be a key partner to business stakeholders and collaborate to meet functional and company goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and continuously enhance a deep understanding of our customers, markets, cultivation and manufacturing processes, capabilities and technologies that will enable effective use of resources and good decisions in the procurement function.
- Lead, coach, and develop a small team of Procurement Buyers.
- Define and implement standard contract development and negotiation processes and a robust supplier review program.
- Evaluates spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased, and timeliness of deliveries.
- Standardize procurement processes across the organization in support of reducing costs and improving supplier performance.
- Establish and manage network of strong and diverse vendor relationships that are backed up with performance metrics.
- Build and lead the deployment of vendor performance evaluation program.
- Serve as key partner to business stakeholders and collaborate to meet functional and company objectives.
- Develop and Implement risk mitigation contingency plans in the event of product shortages.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ years' experience successfully building and leading a Procurement team and creating a high-performance, high-accountability culture.
- Subject Matter Expert in building diverse supplier network.
- Demonstrated competence in negotiating skills with respect to Pricing, Service, Terms and Conditions.
- Experience managing commercial issues (e.g., payment terms, pricing increase requests) with suppliers and assessing supplier data and performance
- Experience knowledge of Supplier Quality and SCM / Supply Chain Management
- Knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes
- Certification CPCM (Certified Professional Contracts Manager), CCCM (Certified Commercial Contracts Manager) preferred
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, construction, electrical, or other suitable field of study is required
