Avery Weigh-Tronix is global in the design, manufacture and after sales service for industrial weighing solutions.

Our headquarters are based in Birmingham (UK), from where we design, manufacture, sell and service a huge range of weighing products and solutions. Our long history of commitment to innovation has meant that we’re proud to have enjoyed over 200 years of success.

We are a local business, with the backing of a large multinational corporation. The company is owned by Illinois Tool Works (ITW): a Fortune 200 company which is one of the world’s leading diversified manufacturers of specialised industrial equipment, consumables, and related service businesses.

Giving back to our Community

We support numerous community, environmental and charitable causes through employee-lead fundraising and participation. In short, this means we’re happy to support charitable endeavours for nominated charities by giving employees the freedom to arrange these events during work time – from cake sales for Macmillan to dressing up for Children in Need. We strongly believe we can all give a little something back to our community by having fun together. As such, we willingly support these events by contributing towards fundraising totals to maximise the amounts we donate wherever possible

Our commitment to Sustainability

As a major international business using large quantities of energy and raw materials, we are committed to improving our environmental performance, increasing the efficient use of our resources and energy and minimising waste and harmful emissions. We recognise that we have a responsibility - to our employees, customers and the environment - to employ processes, practices, materials or products that avoid or reduce environmental damage.

At the heart of our sustainability initiative is the aim to move our facilities toward zero waste disposal to landfill. By working hand in hand with our waste management providers, we’re able to track individual waste streams, increase our recycling rates and identify cost-effective and responsible alternatives for our waste.

We’re committed to complying with relevant statutory requirements: we’re ISO14001 certified, which means we follow a set of standards for environmental management which helps us to (a) minimise how our operations negatively affect the environment; (b) comply with applicable laws, regulations, and other environmentally oriented requirements; and (c) continually improve in the above.

Our on-site commitment to the environment is extended throughout the supply chain and evident in our purchasing policies. To meet the requirements of both Avery Weigh-Tronix and parent company ITW, suppliers must focus on reducing the overall environmental impact of their activities and related carbon footprint, land filled waste and water usage. Suppliers are also expected to comply with all applicable laws and regulations around the globe, including those pertaining to human rights, as well as environmental and health and safety laws.
