The Opportunity

The Senior Accountant is an important part of the Accounting team and is responsible for assisting the Senior Manager, Technical Accounting & Reporting with SEC filings, technical accounting research, preparation of whitepapers, and management of the SOX program.  Further, the Senior Accountant will assist the Senior Manager, Accounting with accruals for manufacturing costs, revenue recognition models, and the search for unrecorded liabilities.  The ideal candidate possesses a positive attitude, is self-motivated, and eager to learn new things while having an impact across a broad scope of areas at the Company.  Further, the ideal candidate will have a desire to continually re-evaluate, challenge, and propose improvements to existing processes as the company grows over time.

What You Will Contribute

  • Prepares complex journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting analysis applicable to the group
  • Researches technical accounting issues and proposes potential solutions
  • Prepares technical accounting memos
  • Develop strong understanding of holistic Avidity business and processes to ensure appropriate execution of SOX program and preparation of SEC filings
  • Provides support and direction to other departments and business areas
  • Has a customer service mindset when working with other groups
  • Intellectually curious and drive to understand the “why” behind each process and procedures
  • Ability to think outside the box and develop new processes and process improvements
  • Typically works autonomously with little instruction on day-to-day work

What We Seek

  •           4+ Years of experience that includes both Auditing and Corporate Accounting
  •           Strong knowledge of US GAAP and able to articulate accounting theory
  •           Advanced self-review skills
  •          Advanced organizational skills
  •           Intermediate knowledge of SOX and audit requirements
  •           Intermediate Excel/MS Office & ERP skills

 

Preferred Background

  • Big 4 or other Large National Audit Firm experience
  • Corporate Accounting experience in a SOX environment
  • Cost Accounting experience
  • Experience with D365 or other large ERP systems
  • Biotech experience
  • Licensed CPA or in progress with the CPA Exam

 

What We will Provide to You:

  • The base salary range for this role is $95,000-$115,000. The final compensation will be commensurate with such factors as relevant experience, skillset, internal equity and market factors.
