Intern, CMC Project Management
Description
The Intern, CMC Project Management will support client facing program teams in the planning, coordination, and execution of Chemistry, Manufacturing & Controls (CMC) activities. Working closely with experienced Project Managers and cross functional technical teams, the intern will assist with project organization, documentation, communication, and operational support to ensure alignment between internal stakeholders and external clients. This role provides exposure to the CMC lifecycle, cross functional collaboration, and real-world project management practices in a fast-paced biopharmaceutical environment.
We are thrilled to provide a 10-week paid internship at our facility in Tustin, CA. As an intern, you'll dive deep into our team culture, take on significant projects, and play a vital role in our team's dynamics. This temporary, 40-hour per week office position is designed to offer you a wealth of experience and the chance to connect with professionals in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination & Documentation
- Assist in the development and maintenance of project plans, timelines, action logs, and tracking tools.
- Support the preparation of meeting agendas, minutes, and follow up trackers.
- Help organize project documentation and maintain repositories such as SharePoint or Teams.
Client Facing Support
- Prepare draft materials for client meetings, including slide decks, status updates, and meeting summaries.
- Track, consolidate, and route client requests to the appropriate functional areas.
- Support Project Managers in ensuring timely communication and consistent messaging for client interactions.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Gather updates from internal CMC functions (e.g., Process Development, MSAT, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing).
- Assist with coordination of small, well defined tasks across cross functional teams.
- Help drive accountability by following up on action items with subject matter experts.
Data & Metrics
- Compile project metrics such as deliverable status, risk logs, and timeline performance indicators.
- Assist with data organization and contribute to dashboards or visualization tools used for internal and client reporting.
- Support creation of Key Performance Indicator (KPI) summaries for leadership and client review.
Risk & Issue Management
- Maintain risk and issue logs, ensuring entries are accurate and up to date.
- Document mitigation plans and support follow up activities as needed.
Document & Change Control Support
- Track document progress, including protocols, reports, and change controls.
- Coordinate document review and approval cycles with functional teams and Quality as appropriate.
Process Improvement & PMO Support
- Assist in the development or refinement of project management templates, workflows, and standard tools.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the Project Management Office (PMO).
Administrative & Organizational Support
- Help schedule internal and external meetings and manage related logistics.
- Maintain distribution lists, shared folders, and other organizational tools.
Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Life Sciences, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Ability to understand scientific and technical concepts related to biologics development (training provided).
- Passionate about a career in the biotech industry and looking to gain valuable experience through this internship.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration platforms (Teams, SharePoint).
- Ability to work in a team environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Interest in biopharmaceutical development, CMC processes, or project management preferred.
- Availability to work full-time for the duration of the internship at our Tustin, CA facility.
- Authorization to work in the country where the internship is located.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This role is a temporary position operating Monday through Friday, 5x8 (5 days x 8 hours) schedule.
Internship to begin on Monday, June 15th and end on Friday, August 21st.

Compensation:
The compensation for this role is $20.00 per hour.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
