The Intern, Manufacturing Operations will support all Manufacturing functional areas, including Upstream, Downstream, and Formulations, within Avid Bioservices’ CGMP multi-product facility. This internship provides exposure to GMP manufacturing operations, improvement projects, equipment readiness activities, and cleanroom practices. Interns will assist with observation-based tasks, documentation support, and improvement initiatives while learning Avid’s core values: Integrity, Adaptability, Innovation, Teamwork, and Passion.
We're thrilled to provide a 10-week paid internship at our facility in Tustin, CA. As an intern, you'll dive deep into our team culture, take on significant projects, and play a vital role in our team's dynamics. This temporary, 40-hour per week office position is designed to offer you a wealth of experience and the chance to connect with professionals in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Manufacturing teams through observation of cGMP operations across all functional areas.
- Assist in staging materials, equipment readiness checks, inventory organization, and cleanroom compliance activities.
- Participate in Manufacturing improvement projects focused on efficiency, documentation accuracy, and operational excellence.
- Support SOP and BPR improvement initiatives through document review, identifying inconsistencies, and proposing enhancements.
- Assist in collecting process data, compiling information, and supporting investigations related to equipment or process deviations.
- Aid in maintaining clean and compliant manufacturing areas, including equipment logs, material organization, and audit readiness.
- Observe aseptic techniques and basic bioprocess workflows while adhering to partial hands-on restrictions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field.
- Strong interest in CGMP manufacturing and bioprocess operations.
- Availability to work full-time for the duration of the internship at our Tustin, CA facility.
- Authorization to work in the country where the internship is located.
- Passionate about a career in the biotech industry and looking to gain valuable experience through this internship.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This role is a temporary position operating Monday through Friday, 5x8 (5 days x 8 hours) schedule.
Internship to begin on Monday, June 15th and end on Friday, August 21st.

Compensation:
The compensation for this role is $20.00 per hour.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Interns may work in classified cleanroom environments (Grade C/ISO 7), requiring gowning and exposure to standard GMP conditions, mechanical equipment, noise, and occasional contact with chemicals or vibrations. The role involves a mix of sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, with essential visual acuity for close, distance, and color tasks.
