The Intern, Competitive Intelligence supports the Marketing and Business Development team by collecting, organizing, and analyzing data on the biopharmaceutical competitive landscape. This role helps evaluate market trends, emerging technologies, CDMO activity, and the evolving biotech pipeline to inform strategic planning and marketing initiatives. The intern will assist in building structured reports and dashboards that provide meaningful insights to cross‑functional partners, helping guide positioning, messaging, and commercial decision‑making.
We are thrilled to provide a 10-week paid internship at our facility in Tustin, CA. As an intern, you will dive deep into our team culture, take on significant projects, and play a vital role in our team's dynamics. This temporary, 40-hour per week office position is designed to offer you a wealth of experience and the chance to connect with professionals in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on industry trends, competitor activities, and the broader CDMO and biologics development landscape.
- Map biotech pipelines to track emerging therapies, development progress, funding trends, and partnership activity.
- Build concise reports and summaries on competitors’ capabilities, service offerings, marketing strategies, and facility expansions.
- Monitor news, press releases, financial filings, and conference presentations to identify relevant updates.
- Compile data sets and contribute to dashboards, trackers, and CI databases that support internal reporting.
- Assist in preparing slides, briefs, or summaries for leadership, business development, and marketing teams.
- Support ad‑hoc competitive intelligence projects and deep-dive analyses as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to translate complex information into clear summaries or visual reports.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong research skills with the ability to gather and synthesize data from multiple sources.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
- Availability to work full-time for the duration of the internship at our Tustin, CA facility.
- Authorization to work in the country where the internship is located.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
- Ability to understand scientific and technical concepts related to biologics development (training provided).
- Passionate about a career in the biotech industry and looking to gain valuable experience through this internship.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This role is a temporary position operating Monday through Friday, 5x8 (5 days x 8 hours) schedule.
Internship to begin on Monday, June 15th and end on Friday, August 21st.

- Summer Project: Personalized project plan, complete with a pre-determined roadmap and week by week milestones that the intern will need to meet, ensuring clear expectations and measurable outcomes.

- Weekly Check-ins and 1:1s: Conduct both on a weekly basis to ensure clear communication and support for our interns.
- Performance Assessments: Conduct mid and end of program performance assessments to be provided with constructive criticism and feedback to help you grow and succeed.

Compensation:
The compensation for this role is $20.00 per hour.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
