AVER is seeking a Data Analyst to support a long-term program within Homeland Security. The mission is to increase data-driven decision-making by developing and integrating analytical tools for multiple audiences. As a Data Analyst you will be responsible for collecting and transforming data, and designing, developing, maintaining, and improving dashboards and reports to support analysis of organizational performance, organizational health, and more. Responsibilities Include:
- Gather information from various sources and assemble the information into comprehensive work products (i.e. dashboards, reports, briefings, etc.) for leadership's information.
- Synthesizing large data sets and creating visually appealing charts, graphs, reports, and dashboards
- Identify and implement model enhancements, document and understand workload drivers, and incorporate forecasting and scenario analysis
- Collect, maintain and update operational data from SME's and systems of record.
- Collaborate with team members, clients, and project stakeholders to collect and analyze data.
- Maintain and update data from client programs and systems of record
- Structure and transform data sets to find usable information
- Use graphs, charts, infographics, and other methods to visualize data in meaningful ways
- Design and develop interactive, impactful dashboards that enable clients and stakeholders to make data-driven decisions through insights, forecasting, and scenario analysis
- Create presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings for internal, client, and client stakeholders
- Work with team members, clients, and others to identify and implement data models, dashboard, and report enhancements
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or Statistics, Economics, Business Administration or Analytics, Public Policy or a similar field
Experience Requirements:
- Experience working with data, preferably in support of Federal clients
- Experience with Tableau, Tableau Desktop, R and R Studio
- Ability to translate complex data into easily understood concise data visualizations, dashboards, and presentations
- Experience with dashboard and report development
Desired Requirements:
- Ability to apply advanced concepts of operations research, statistics in solving a variety of complex problems.
- Experience with R for data cleaning
- Experience with data visualization software, such as Tableau
- Problem solving skills and experience
- Ability to communicate technical concepts and methodologies

- Washington, DC- REMOTE
Security Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (Public Trust)
