Job SummaryTechnical Writer for API and Help Content, Pune - Join our fast-growing UX team to develop original and compelling content experiences for customers and developers. This position requires someone who has successfully developed and led technical content products as part of a complex and changing ecosystem.
Job Duties Develop and implement effective customer and developer content for a critical part of Avalara's business, including our core calculation software.Develop technical documentation, sample code, and UI strings for Avalara's global development center in PuneGather information from product management, engineering, support, and customers to establish, prioritize, and meet measurable success criteriaIdentify gaps and make recommendations for improving user interface text, Walkme content, error messages, Avalara Help Center articles, and API documentationStarting with API documentation, develop and publish usable documentation that aligns to the established success criteriaEvangelize company-wide for great customer experiences, and establish content development processes in a rapidly growing agile environmentImplement an international and localizable content strategy for consumer and developer audiencesApply documentation and product design standards to produce high-quality, measurable documentation for Avalara Pune solutionsWrite and edit code samples and scenarios to demonstrate API best practices
Preferred Qualifications1+ years of experience working with structured content and/or DITA (1-2 years)1+ years of developing micro-copy / UX content for a customer-facing software product (1 year)1+ years of experience working with a partner ecosystem and products that integrate into other business applicationsSpanish speaking is a plusExperience working with graphics, visuals, or other mediaMA degree or relevant professional experience
