Head of Customer Marketing, EMEA R4581
Avalara is growing rapidly and seeking a senior marketer to lead customer marketing for EMEA. You will be responsible for building a marketing strategy for existing customers, including cross-sell, programmatic lifecycle customer communications and scaled and premium customer experiences (virtual and in-person). This is a new position that sets the strategy for customer retention and expansion to ensure the EMEA business achieves its growth goals.
You'll be organised, strategic, analytical and data-driven in order to map the right customer experiences that drive the business with a tracked set of goals to measure the effectiveness of your efforts.

Lead the planning and execution of compelling and impactful cross-sell and up-sell marketing campaigns that result in customer expansion and new business growth.
Work closely with EMEA marketing and sales leadership to build strong relationships with our existing customer base through a variety of engaging programmes.
Act as a key internal stakeholder for customer-facing communications and work cross-functionally and collaborate with various teams to get buy-in and feedback on initiatives.
Foster and grow a customer reference and advocacy programme for EMEA, including customer success stories, testimonials and referrals, etc. this will likely be done with US team's strong partnership
Support customer migration projects, and overall increase customer loyalty and retention.
Lead the planning and execution of events, including advisory boards, user groups, and webinars.
Analyse up-sell, cross-sell and renewal data to drive strategic decisions around customer engagement and track the performance of all campaigns and optimise where necessary.
Work closely with the operations and sales team across the region to ensure the maintenance of an up-to-date and accurate customer database.
Create consistent communication with sales and account management leadership to promote awareness of programmes, provide activity updates, and solicit feedback.
Work closely with our product and wider marketing team to ensure we are looping in our customer's voices when launching products.
Lead the creation of compelling content to ensure our campaigns are successful.
Be responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience using various customer success and customer relationship management techniques.
Requires 6 – 8 years of related subject matter experience plus at least 4 years of prior leadership experience.
A passion for customer marketing with demonstrable experience leading the function for a high growth SaaS / technology company.
Have a deep understanding of B2B marketing and lead generation execution and tracking across multiple channels, such as digital, social, email, events, webinars, content and in product.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and can communicate complex data and numbers into clear and actionable insights.
A proactive self-starter who's able to demonstrate initiative and critical/strategic thinking as well as exceptional attention to detail.
Has a positive, can-do attitude and is happy to work with marketing and sales teams in the US and EMEA and build beneficial and collaborative relationships.
