Manager, Workplace Services
We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and highly motivated Manager, Workplace Services to join our team. As the Manager, Workplace Services in our Durham office, you will lead the daily operations with a strong focus on efficiency, process execution, creativity, and delivering happiness to all employees, customers and visitors. In this role, you will report to the Director, Workplace Services and be part of the overall Workplace Experience Team.

Deliver world class, cost-effective workplace solutions to Avalarians, including but not limited to, facilities operations, compliance requirements, facility maintenance and general office management such as food and beverage, reception, mail, etc.
Coach and develop employees, including Facilities Manager, Office Manager, and Workplace Coordinator, to reach full potential, proactively dealing directly and quickly with performance issues and positioning employees for success.
Actively guide the team toward engagement with all who enter and depart the workplace with a special emphasis on employee experience.
Responsible for overseeing and execution of employee engagement programs such as event support, birthdays, anniversaries, newborns, etc.
Be a key partner to the business and internal organizations to help drive collaboration, strategy, problem solving and communications.
Maintain relationships with vendors and staff to ensure projects are on time, on budget and completed to satisfaction.
Implement and execute PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) plan to ensure that the site is thoroughly cleaned, maintained and functional.
Cultivate an orderly, safe, and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with local regulations.
Conduct regular site inspections to identify and resolve issues.
Innovate and execute processes, tools and dashboards to monitor progress against department strategies and objectives while meeting or exceeding expectations.
Assist with operating budgets, approving invoices, creating purchase orders and working closely with the accounting department on month/quarter end closures.
Act as a nurturer of company culture handling employee requests with a high degree of customer service to ensure the environment is productive, fun, and stimulating.
7+ years experience in understanding, creating and implementing effective workplace solutions delivering top notch customer service in a fast-paced environment.
5+ years experience successfully managing a team displaying effective communication, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
Passion for building communities, making workplaces operate seamlessly, and delivering an amazing customer service experience to employees.
Proactive team player, relationship builders, self-starter, and influencer with proven ability to multitask and prioritize.
Exhibit strong analytical, conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills.
Excellent attention to detail, great organizational skills, and solid judgement capabilities.
Strong project and program management skills.
Experience working with vendors including contract negotiation and management.
General accounting and finance knowledge; previously managed opex and capex budgets.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Knowledge of OSHA, EH&S, and local standards and regulations.
BS/BA in FAcility Management, Business Administration or relevant field of study. Professional qualification (eg. CFM) is a plus.
