Senior Technical Program Manager – Strategic Partnerships, Partner Launch:

Senior Technical Program Manager, Partner Launch is a member of Avalara's Partner Management, Partner Launch & Solutions Team. This role focuses on Avalara's named strategic partnerships and requires a background in technology, partner management, partner communication, and is partner facing.

Job Duties:

  • Work directly with technology partners building integrations to Avalara's suite of products by providing: Best practices consultation, Design/architecture review, and Issue resolution

  • Provide functional and technology demonstrations of Avalara products during partner prospecting/acquisition

  • Be the Voice of the Partner to Product Management, Tax Content, and Engineering teams, breaking down silos between support and service organizations through proactive, cross-functional collaboration to evolve process and practices to be scalable and repeatable

  • Collaborate with Strategic Partner Managers (SPM) and their strategic technology partners introducing additional Avalara products and services, advocating for their introduction into the partner's connector

  • External collaboration with partners and technical vendors for cross-vendor technical support and proactive product improvement initiatives

  • Conduct solution tests on partner integrations ensuring all requirements are completed and the integration functions properly

  • Technical management of a critical situation, working in tandem with Avalara stakeholders during an escalation.

  • Serve as subject matter expert for Avalara products and services, supporting the Partner Management org, Sales Engineering, and Marketing staff. Attending continued product trainings to assure continued expertise from technical front

  • Create and streamline documentation to accelerate the integration build process for technology partners

  • Deliver presentations and workshops at technology partner events

Experience and Skills:

  • Strong business acumen

  • Executive presence to lead and manage the most strategic global partners.

  • Minimum 3-5 years in a technical account management and/or customer service capacity

  • Exposure and comfort with networking concepts, software code, tax calculation, ERP systems and eCommerce platforms

  • Postman \\ API proficiency and technical troubleshooting in a partner facing environment. Proven track record of strong problem-solving skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Optimistic, enthusiastic and self-motivated. An individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment that can be stressful and chaotic.
