Avalara is looking for an Acquistion Integration & Operations Director to join our Revenue Operations team. This role will focus on and lead the efforts for the effective, timely, and strategic integration of Avalara acquisitions into our Customer facing organizations. Working directly with the Corporate Development Operations teams, the primary focus of the Director role will ensure:
Effective integration strategy, process and policy rhythm are established, launched, and maintained to slipstream acquisition business into the Avalara business Effective design, development, and management of a Acquisition integration playbooks, workstreams, and executive readouts that will be the foundation for integrating future acqusitions into Avalara's Lead to Sale motion Accountability for integration efforts that support the achievement of revenue and bookings growth goals for acquired targets as part of Avalara's Corporate development and growth initatives
What you will be responsible for as a member of the team:
This role will lead the effort in establishing best practices and a scalable Operating Rhythm to integrate Avalara acquisitions into the Customer facing support organizations.
Working directly with other departmental Integration onwers, you will be a key contributor and accountable signature for our end to end integration playbook and Avalara's acquisition integration strategy and execution.
This role will report to the VP Revenue Operations and work cross-functionally with the Revenue Operations Team to ensure an effective, closed-loop feedback process is in place between Sales, Marketing, Corporate Development, Product, Finance and other supporting teams.
Responsibilities:Participate, when required, in the M&A Due Diligence process in a supportive capacity for the evaluation of target businesses. Define the requirements to ensure integration of acquired business into the Avalara Technology and Business Process occurs and a seamless and timely manner. Be accountable for the design, build, launch , and refinement of Avalara's Operations integration workflow and operating rhythm.Lead and complete the execution of the Integration playbook actions to ensure a seamless integration of acquired businesses into the Avalara Sales and Customer facing teams.Establish a robust closed-loop process back to the Corporate Development Operations leadership to ensure a scalable and effective operating rhythm for future integrations.Manage a team of Operation Prime(s) to complete tactical execution of integrations to our Customer Success organization.Understand the structure of potential acquisitions and identify, prioritize, and execute integration activities pertinent to relevant integration support teams.Coordinate Corporate development Senior Leadership and team on the appropriate level of participation in the due diligence process, which may include evaluating integration risks/opportunities for targeted companies such as process and policy requirements, organizational and role integration planning, and other integration needs.Create executable integration plans, detailing the tactical plan(s) for integrations to ensure consistent results. Facilitate and lead Operations integration status meetings with to articulate integration timelines will be met.Articulate the strategy and rhythm for the day-to-day execution of the integration process as it relates to Operations, including participating in cross-functional team meetings, facilitating Revenue Operations team meetings, and proactively driving issue resolution to ensure short-term and long-term strategic objectives are achieved.Minimize disruption to Sales and Customer facing teams while executing the Operations integration strategy. Define, track, and communicate appropriate key performance metrics that relate to integration activities to the appropriate stakeholders - Identify and communicate potential risks and mitigate control risks.Ensure focus on People, Process and Systems to establish a scalable and effective Integration process for both short term and long term strategy (requires securing alignment from Sales Leaders on proposed plans and strategy).
Qualifications:Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a Sales Operations/Business Operations with specific focus on Corporate Development/Acquisition IntegrationsSolid understanding of Salesforce and other sales supporting technology solutions involved in the Lead to Sale motionDemonstrated understanding and results related to strategies and tactical completion of business integration via acquisitionsAbility to articulate fundamental strategy with regards to Sales/Business Rules of Engagement for various Sales segment.Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required, master's degree preferred.Strong technical aptitude, with knowledge of typical productivity applications (including SmartSheets, Excel, PowerPoint, Miro Board, and Word).Strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to link project outcomes to business objectives with a proven track record to identify, mitigate, and/or escalate issues and risks.Ability to create and articulate project plan strategy to develop and execute initiatives to meet defined objectivesAbility to understand and translate internal customer needs into an executable game-planDemonstrated awareness, team participation, versatility, and integrity.Understanding of (and ability to articulate) end to end tactical plan to for the successful integration of acquired businesses
What Success Looks Like:
The successful candidate will have established a positive, collaborative working relationship with Avalara's Corporate Development Leadership and execution team that aligns on a scalable, repeatable integration strategy for Avalara's acquisitions. Additionally, this individual will build their brand as a trusted advisor to the Corporate Development team to ensure positive business outcomes are achieved for the acquisition targets that Avalara pursues.
