Reporting directly to the Director, Tax – EMEA GRS Compliance, we are looking for an experienced operational leader to help us navigate through a period of fast growth. This role is pivotal in driving automation and efficiency whilst focussing on employee engagement and performance within a very exciting diverse environment where culture is key.

With strong tax and technical knowledge, you will be committed to continuous improvement in our processes and product development, ensuring collaboration with various departmental stakeholders including Professional Services, Engineering (including Content), Product, C&CI & Innov8.

This role is looking for someone to be able to think outside the box and proactively identify efficiency measures in our ‘business as usual' operations whilst managing an international team of junior and senior Tax analysts.

You will have experience of working within a complex environment and be able to prioritise and deliver a programme of work to deadlines.

Job Duties

  • Lead a department through a group of team leaders working with a great team of people dedicated to success.

  • Be the accountable owner of operational performance against contractual SLAs.

  • Collaborate with Senior Leaders to deliver a Customer Experience strategy to support the functions of our Ops Filing business unit.

  • Development and oversight of the team (initially 40 people but growing). Staff appraisal and goal setting in line with required competencies/KPIs.

  • Identify and report performance trends, metrics, service delivery issues to senior management.

  • Collaborative working with teams across GRS and in EMEA as well as our India organisation.

  • Create compelling communications, presentations, and agendas to share successes, challenges, and updates internal and external to the department.

  • Working with our stakeholders and partners to support prioritisation on activities that will create efficiency across the operation.


  • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years (or master's degree and 8+ years) of Country / International VAT compliance experience of managing VAT staff.

  • Experience of leading a department of at least 40+ people.

  • A great motivator with a tenacity to achieve results, with proven ability to build a team that shares the passion for performance improvement.

  • Experience working at all organizational levels with a high degree of professionalism and business acumen.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required with a demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams.

  • Teamwork-oriented with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and business development.

  • Ability to think strategically, solve problems effectively and tenaciously follow-through to ensure end to end success.

  • Results-oriented with strong people and time management skills, highly organized, motivated, and driven to succeed.

  • Fluency in other EU languages would be an advantage.
