DAVO by Avalara is a division of Avalara focused on small businesses. We offer a sales tax compliance service that connects to POS (Point-of-Sale) systems like Clover, Square, and Toast to automatically set aside sales tax funds daily, then file and pay them to the state on behalf of the merchant.

Job Summary:

DAVO by Avalara is looking for an individual to sell our automated sales tax solution to multi-unit, chain, and franchise restaurant and retail markets. Our sales tax solution gives business owners back their time and energy and gives them peace of mind.

This individual will leverage their sales, prospecting, interpersonal, and organizational skills to help grow DAVO by Avalara by penetrating this unique and exciting multi-unit market.

This individual will be responsible for selling DAVO by Avalara's sales tax compliance solutions and work with a driven and high performing team who thrive on meeting and exceeding monthly targets together.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Sell DAVO by Avalara's sales tax compliance solutions to passionate multi-unit small businesses across the United States helping them get back valuable time and scale their business.

  • Streamline and manage the sales process within our Hubspot CRM. Keeping track of leads, expected business with estimated value, likelihood of closing, timelines, and bookings.

  • Continually evaluate results to best align the sales process to optimize high growth.

  • Qualify and close sales leads that are self-generated, generated by our marketing and sales development teams and partner relationships.

  • Identify sales opportunities through direct prospecting, lead follow up, and networking

  • Build and maintain relationships with Avalara partner sales, marketing teams and other third parties to jointly accelerate the volume of high quality pipeline.

  • Manage a small and medium size customer sales process through qualification, needs analysis, product demonstration, negotiation and close.

  • Develop and maintain a high level of industry knowledge and DAVO by Avalara's offerings.

  • Be an active team player both on the sales team and throughout Avalara to help meet company objectives.

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience: 3+ years of relevant sales experience.

  • The Multi-Unit Salesperson will have strong organizational skills and flourish in a fast-paced, and dynamic environment.

  • Consultative, solution-based sales methodology

  • Experience in handling high velocity and complex selling situations (primarily phone-based selling to small and mid-market businesses).

  • Relationship Management: Track record of successfully building and sustaining relationships with prospects and partners coupled with a deep and broad network of channel/partner relationships

  • Tools: Solid experience with CRM, ideally Hubspot and/or Salesforce, Microsoft Office, Web Conferencing, etc.

  • Education: BA/BS in finance, business or related field or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Highly motivated, competitive, and coachable individual.

  • Documented success achieving and exceeding assigned quotas.

  • Sales experience with financial/accounting applications and/or hosted SaaS software solutions and/or the hospitality franchise services industry is a strong plus.

  • Knowledge and expertise in the ERP, E-Commerce, Billing/POS solutions a plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.

  • Occasional travel to relevant conferences and events.
