Summary
The mission of our Supply Chain Planner is to manage an assigned supply base, projects, and strategic initiatives to advance sustainable planning prowess for Autocar. The Supply Chain Planner will drive analytics, systemic actions, and behavioral decision making to ensure right parts, in right quantities are available, as needed and scheduled, in support of our customers.

Achieving, improving and exceeding targeted purchasing standards and goals, managing inventory levels and targets, and managing supply and demand within the product supply chain.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities and Est. % of Time Spent on Each
- Plan and execute procurement of finished goods from manufacturers and suppliers
- Maintain strong working relationships and communications directly with the manufacturers and suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders for all orders to ensure on-time deliveries
- Develop and maintain a strong business relationship with domestic and international suppliers
- Proactively report product and material availability issues
- Maintain, monitor reports; revise essential system planning data to ensure planning system is effectively planning future requirements
- Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information in ERP system
- Lead monthly vendor collaboration meetings
- Complete special projects and assignments as requested

- Supply Chain Planning experience, long lead time procurement and kit planning helpful.
- Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills (oral & written)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Expert level in Excel
- An understanding of Demand Planning, Inventory Planning and Distribution Requirements Planning
- Knowledge of planning triggers/settings (safety stock, time phased requirements)
- Familiarity with NetSuite and BI software a plus
- Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities
- Bachelor’s Degree Required; preferred supply chain, logistics or mathematics focus
- 2 years’ supply chain experience in a distribution environment preferred
- APICS or similar certification prefer

Required Education, Certification, Training
To perform the job successfully, an individual should have or obtain the following education, certification or training:
- Bachelor’s Degree Required; preferred supply chain, logistics or mathematics focus
- At least 2 years’ experience as supply chain planner in a distribution environment
- APICS or similar certification prefer
