With U.S.-based operational headquarters in Southfield, Michigan, Auria operates 16 manufacturing, 9 technical and 5 JV locations across 10 countries and employs approximately 3,900 people worldwide.
We are currently searching for Human Resources Generalist to join our team at our plant in Holmesville, Ohio.

What you will do:
  • Safety
    • Provide support by ensuring compliance with all safety rules, policies, and procedures within plant.
    • Participate in safety investigations, including but not limited to injuries, property damage, violation of policies and procedures. As required, providing recommendations on corrective actions.
    • Support the drug testing process for facility including but not limited to pre-employment drug testing, reasonable suspicion testing, post-accident/incident testing.
    • Support Human Resources Manager on workers compensation program for the plant, including submitting claims, meeting with insurer to review claim status ensuring compliance to any restrictions, and as required meeting with outside counsel.
  • Talent Acquisition
    • Manage hourly recruitment with input from operation by meeting weekly to coordinate manning numbers to cover openings, absenteeism and overtime to customer requirements
    • Manage temporary labor with input from operations, to ensure temporary labor spend is manageable and relationship with suppliers is collaborative and effective.
    • Coordinate and conduct orientation for all new hires (hourly and salary) as required
    • Support Student Programs for plant, by advising managers on requirements, seeking approval for position, recruiting for the role, and managing the Summer Internship in accordance to Auria’s Student Program.
  • Employee Relations
    • Respond to management and employees’ questions and/or concerns and recommend appropriate courses of action.
    • Support plant engagement activities to enhance employee satisfaction, engagement and retention for both hourly and salary employees.
    • Support Auria’s open door policy so employees can share concerns, complaints, and questions freely.
    • As required, lead investigations into concerns or complaints, provide corrective action recommendations, and implement corrective actions to Auria’s investigation process.
    • Administer plant leave process by reviewing leave of absence request, administering Salary Continuation process in accordance with Family Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disability Act, Pregnant Fair Works Act, and local and state laws.
    • As required, represent Auria in related hearings and investigations conducted by outside agencies, such as unemployment, OSHA, worker's compensation, etc.
    • Support the corrective action process and manage policy violation in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
    • Lead and participate in termination process for plant, by reviewing documentation, preparing documentation, and supporting managers/ supervisors on their portion of the process.
    • Manage hourly attendance program, by reviewing absences, issuing corrective actions, and managing Perfect Attendance program.
    • Support payroll process for site, including reviewing timesheets and ensuring supervisors are completing approvals of employees time.
      • Talent Management
        • Support HR Manager on the 1 on 1 process for the plant, including answering questions, completing audits on a quarterly basis, providing support to both managers and employees on the process as they arise.
        • As required process Tuition Reimbursement Policy for plant, by reviewing applications, submitting payroll reimbursements, and answering questions in adherence to Auria’s Tuition Reimbursement policy.
      • Compliance
        • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations including but not limited to paid sick time, Family Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disability Act, etc.
        • Administer employee records program such as personnel transactions (hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations), benefits
        • Manage unemployment for plant by responding to claims and as required attending unemployment hearings.
      • As required, participate and respond to corporate projects, initiatives and requests including travel to support other locations.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      What you will bring:
      • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management or related field, preferred
      • 3- 5 years’ experience with responsibilities a Human Resources Generalist or Human Resources Business Partner in a manufacturing environment. Experience in the automotive industry is highly desired.
      • Bilingual in English and Spanish, strongly desired
      • Experience working with HRIS system and Applicant tracking systems required.  Experience with Ceridian Dayforce, Employ Jobvite strongly preferred
      Travel Requirements:
      • Travel may be required to other North America Plants.
      Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
      • Working knowledge of employment and labor laws, such as FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, etc.
      • Must have prior experience managing all aspects of labor relations for a manufacturing workforce, including the collective bargaining process.
      • Must be knowledgeable of benefits administration, specifically the annual enrollment process, life status changes, COBRA, etc.
      • Must have experience with HR systems, preferably Ceridan Dayforce, ADP, PeopleSoft or similar HRIS/Payroll system.
      • Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and present information to management, employees, corporate personnel, and vendors/suppliers.
      • Excellent analytical, problem resolution, negotiating and project management skills.
      • Strong organizational skills; and the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and priorities to meet established and changing deadlines.
      • Must be willing to work flexible work schedule to ensure HR availability across multiple shifts
