We are currently searching for INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER to join our team at our Old Fort Plant in Old Fort, North Carolina.


What you will do:

  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes, procedures, and workflows to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct time and motion studies, capacity studies, and process mapping to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.  
  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis, to drive operational enhancements.
  • Design and develop robust manufacturing concepts, including facility layouts and equipment placement, to streamline production and improve material flow.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and management, to implement new processes and solutions.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Assist in completing production trials by coordinating run times with scheduling, determining the optimal processing conditions (cost & quality), assuring the appropriate sample testing is conducted, and following through to make sure items arrive at the correct destination.  
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including flow charts, standard operating procedures, and cycle time analyses.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing processes and designs adhere to quality standards, safety regulations, and industry-specific compliance requirements.
  • Perform financial and cost-benefit analyses to support capital investment decisions for new equipment or system upgrades.
  • Support new product launches by participating in the industrialization process from a production standpoint.
  • Train and mentor manufacturing personnel on new processes, procedures, and improvement projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you will bring:

Education 

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related technical field preferred 
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience working as Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer at a Tier 1 supplier

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel to other North America plants may be required for training, support, and meetings (limited)

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  •        Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail
  •        Ability to manage multiple projects and activities simultaneously   
  •        PLC or programming experience a plus   
  •        General knowledge of safety, quality and engineering process preferred   
  •        Good communication skills and ability to interface on all levels of operation   
  •        Able to work well in a team environment   
  •        Proficient with AutoCAD 
  •        Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
  •        Project management Professional (PMP) Certification
  •        Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE)
