We are currently searching for Engineering Manager to join our team at our Spartanburg Plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina


What you will do:

  • Define product requirements and assumptions
  • Design, develop and supervise the engineering of applicable products
  • Assist in the development of "the program" APR, PAR, work plans, product assumptions and budgets
  • Develop and execute ED&D project budgets consisting of manpower, prototype tools, material, testing, etc.
  • Assist to establish price & strategy
  • Develop and negotiate SOW's with customers and vendors alike
  • Manage the initial program scope and contain scope shifts through the budget amendment process
  • Plan, manage and execute "the program" per the total program work-plan with minimal guidance
  • Develop and improve existing manufacturing processes to reduce or eliminate all forms of scrap and waste.
  • Deliver manufacturing feasible options through close coordination with Auria operations
  • Minimum approval point for ED&D and all internal and external program cost, timing and expense reporting
  • Incorporate Auria standard product & process designs including lessons learned from past programs
  • Manage team effectiveness through disciplined use of product development tools and standards (i.e. EBOM, DFMEA, PFMEA, DFM/DFA, FEA, DVP&R, APQP, LPMP, PDM, DFSS, TS16949 etc.)
  • Manage the success of "the program" deliverables (i.e. cost, weight, investment, tooling, timing, quality, feasibility, craftsmanship, VA/VE, etc.)
  • Define and maintain roles and responsibilities of team members
  • Select, mentor and develop team members to meet individual position requirements
  • Participate and support corporate initiatives (i.e. Strategic Planning, Six Sigma, VA/VE, etc.)
  • Provide lessons learned and continuous improvement activities to ensure robust designs
  • Responsible for the execution of initial engineering release and subsequent changes
  • Manage initiation and tracking of engineering changes through ECN/RFQ system
  • Responsible for tracking/resolving AIMS and WERS Concerns & Notices through internal & customer system
  • Manage correct initiation of sample requests (B-Req’s) and identify recovery mechanisms as applicable
  • Ensure that GD&T, Dimensional Control Decks and CRT packages are signed off by the customer on all products and incorporated into gage/fixture designs
  • Manage launch support, including onsite at Auria and customer manufacturing locations
  • Responsible for upholding CCC Compliance referring to
    • CCAP-C11- 09 Appendix 4
    • CNCA-C11-09
  • Promote safety and ergonomics in addition to maintaining 5S company standards in all phases of Engineering.
  • Any additional request deemed necessary by Management.

What you will bring:

  • BS/BA Degree in related field
  • MS/MBA preferred
  • Requires 5-10 years experience in related field

 

Travel Requirements: Some travel to other NA plants

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • Strong leadership, oral and written communication skills
  • Manufacturing and operational knowledge
  • Proven technical competence in multiple major subsystems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including MS Project
  • Experience in systems and terminology
