Auria is the world's second largest supplier of automotive acoustic and other fiber-based products. The Company consists of 17 manufacturing facilities, 10 technical/business centers, and approximately 3,900 employees globally.
The Albemarle facility is located at 313 Bethany Road in Albemarle, NC. Our products are tufted and non-woven carpet rolled goods. Our processes include Tufting, Non-Woven, Latex Coating and Extrusion.
We are currently seeking a Materials Manager reporting directly to the Plant Manager. Must be a dynamic, self-motivated and results driven leader with a proven record of generating and building relationships, managing projects, and demonstrating exceptional communication skills.

This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of Auria Solutions as described below:
General Job Duties:
- To exhibit teamwork skills and actively participate in team activities in a positive working environment.

- Follow Company policies and display conduct expected of Auria Solutions employees as described in the Work Plant Rules and Work Safety Rules.
- Adhere to all safety and health objectives, policies and procedures of Auria Solutions to provide for a safe and healthful workplace. Work in a safe manner at all times and report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor in order that the situation can be corrected. Report all accidents and near misses in a timely manner when they occur.
- Maintain proper ergonomics at all times when performing assigned tasks.
- To perform daily cross-functional job assignments in all areas of your assigned department per the established procedures and work guidance.
- Participate and support all lean, continuous improvement programs, initiatives and activities.
- Clean all assigned work areas after completion of the required work according to 5s standards.
- Maintain proper radio etiquette when using company radios, PA System and/or phone, business use only.
- Maintain professionalism when representing the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Specific Job Duties:
- Supervise direct reporting staff according to overall company policy
- Apply strategic planning to determine company, department or unit objectives
- Set direct report goals and objectives
- Develop staff to maximize potential
- Monitor staff performance including performance reviews
- Delegate work duties to staff to attain objectives
- Allocate use of available company resources
- Monitor and assist staff with work progress
- Evaluate current business processes and systems
- Plan and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency
- Responsible for the achievement of department/division/unit productivity and quality goals
- Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in purchasing and distributing materials and supplies in an organization
- Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the materials function.
- Manages subordinate in the Materials group. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include mentoring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Understands business implications of decisions; Displays orientation to profitability; Aligns work with strategic goals.
- Develops strategies to achieve organizational goals; Understands organization's strengths & weaknesses; Identifies external threats and opportunities.
- Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding delivery, quantity shipped and purchased materials.
- Effectively manage inventory with accuracy.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Operations and other departments concerning materials management and delivery performance.
- Provide support to department and operations after hours and on weekends as needed
Education Requirements
- Bachelor degree with 5-7 experience in a related field
Experience Requirements
- Excellent computer including typing and the use of Microsoft Excel and Word
- (5) five or more years experience Supervising in a manufacturing environment, prefer union experience.
- Ability to read, write and perform non-complex mathematical calculations
- Must be a team player having excellent communication, organization, negotiation and interpersonal skills as well as analytical skills
- Must be able to function in a fast pace and high demanding environment.
- Ability to pay attention to detail, multi-task and follow direction
Training Requirements
- This position will be required to travel to other facilities or training locations as well as on-site training as needed.
PPE Requirements
- This position requires the use of eye protection and hearing protection and any PPE specific to the task being performed.
Physical Demands
Must be able to stand on feet and/or sit 8-12 hours a day and lift up to 40lbs on an occasional basis and 15 lbs on a regular basis. Must be able to perform overhead work as well as work below the waist.
