Public Relations Specialist

Job Description Overview:  

The PR department is responsible for ensuring that ASUS’ vision is maintained through marketing and communications initiatives. This can range from the initiatives that pertain to a single event, product, product lines, or even the company as a whole. The goal is to sustain favorable media results for ASUS.

Those responsibilities include media relations, media events, crisis communications, product reviews, and advocacy. The PR department also is responsible for providing guidance to other departments to ensure consistency of message and favorable media results.

The purpose of the Public Relations Specialist role will be to assist the PR teams in day-to-day operations, as well as to assist with high priority projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Influencer Engagement

  • Serve as day-to-day contact for media/influencers; share knowledge
  • Conduct outreach relevant to integrated marketing or other campaign tactics
  • Oversee management of reactive requests, proactively influence & garner coverage
  • Contribute to brainstorms & strategic campaign development
  • Provide timely and in-depth analysis of coverage results & trends

Digital & Social Media Acumen

  • Assist in creating high-level digital/social media strategies that are integrated into communication plans
  • Engage with digital & monitoring divisions regarding projects & deliverables
  • Amplify/promote news on social properties; update & maintain social editorial calendar

Communications Engagement

  • Begin anticipating communication challenges & develop recommendations
  • Contribute to development & implementation of communication strategies
  • Execute tasks associated with projects; may lead certain aspects of project
  • Oversee meetings, agendas & recaps
  • Begin to understand business model from a global perspective; understand key markets, global influencers and the impact on business narrative

Business Acumen & Strategic Thinking

  • Contribute to plans & own executing portions of a plan
  • Identify opportunities for cross-team integration
  • Share POV, knowledge & expertise with the team

Required Qualification:


  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing / PR, Advertising, Journalism or Other Related Fields

 Work Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in communications
  • Established influential relationships; social media presence

 Knowledge and Skills

  • Has written & developed materials, including integrated communication plan(s)
  • Strong presentation and research skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the consumer electronics industry
  • Familiar with computer hardware and/or eSports


Working Conditions:

  • Typically works in an office environment
  • Requires sitting, operating a computer keyboard, telephone and other office equipment for extended periods of time
  • Travel up to 25%
