Job Description Overview:  

Senior Payroll Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and processing employee payrolls. Your responsibilities encompass ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees, maintaining payroll records, calculating multi-state tax deductions, and addressing payroll-related issues.  

   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Payroll Processing:
    • Review payroll inputs from various internal sources to ensure accuracy across multiple payrolls.
    • Process data entry for semi-monthly, multi-state payroll under strict deadlines, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
    • State and local agency registrations when there are employees in new states.
  • Employee Data Management:
    • Work closely with the HR team to aggregate employee data related to new hires, terminations, severance checks, timekeeping, leave of absence, employees benefit change, reimbursements, worker’s comp, garnishments, tax filing, etc. during each pay period.
    • Assist employees with online changes to taxes and direct deposit details.
  • Reconciliation and Auditing:
    • Reconcile 401(k) contributions and funds to employees’ accounts.
    • Audit existing processes to minimize payroll-related errors.
    • Generate ad hoc reports for analysis

Required Qualifications:   

Years of Education   

  •  Bachelors degree in business administration or related


Work Experience  

  •  5+ years payroll processing experience
  •  Advanced level of proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and MS Excel
     

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
  • ADP Payroll, ADP Run, Kronos

   

Working Conditions:  

  • Office Only: Typically works in an office environment
  • Requires sitting, operating a computer keyboard, telephone and other office equipment for extended periods of time
  • May lift up to 25lbs of document files
  • Domestic travel up to 15%

  

$65,000 - $90,000 annually is the estimated pay range for this role working in Fremont, California office. It does not include bonuses, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D insurance, Paid Time Off, EAP, & 401(k). The final amount will be determined based on qualifications & experience of the candidate relative to the role.
