Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Performs all aspects of electrical work constructing and maintaining roadway lighting, traffic signal electrical systems, ITS, etc. in assigned areas. Knowledgeable and highly skilled in all aspects of electrical work.
- Oversees and assists with the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of underground electrical power lines for streetlights, traffic signal systems, ITS, and other components.
- Provide daily communication with the client’s representatives
- Directs the crew members on specific job tasks.
- Operates various tools for the work (various manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-along, jackhammers, drills, ground rod drivers, hand lines, etc.)
- Will have contact with public and private property owners to communicate the work to be performed.
- Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies.
- Responsible for inspections, proper working conditions, and necessary repairs to tools and equipment.
- Assists with groundwork when needed.
- Assists with power outages and electrical problems.
- All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors
- Works around hazardous equipment and near energized parts or equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to terminate secondary pedestals and meter boxes.
- Must be able to read and follow prints.
- Must be able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call-out work.
Education & Experience:
- Valid State issued Master’s license for the state of Texas required.
Pre-Screen:
- Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
License & Certifications:
- A Driver's License is required.
- A commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred.
Travel Requirements:
- Must be willing to travel within the State of Texas as needed, overnight or out-of-town stay may be required up to 2 weeks as needed.
