Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Performs all aspects of electrical work constructing and maintaining roadway lighting, traffic signal electrical systems, ITS, etc. in assigned areas. Knowledgeable and highly skilled in all aspects of electrical work.
  • Oversees and assists with the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of underground electrical power lines for streetlights, traffic signal systems, ITS, and other components.
  • Provide daily communication with the client’s representatives
  • Directs the crew members on specific job tasks.
  • Operates various tools for the work (various manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-along, jackhammers, drills, ground rod drivers, hand lines, etc.)
  • Will have contact with public and private property owners to communicate the work to be performed.
  • Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies.
  • Responsible for inspections, proper working conditions, and necessary repairs to tools and equipment.
  • Assists with groundwork when needed.
  • Assists with power outages and electrical problems.
  • All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors
  • Works around hazardous equipment and near energized parts or equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to terminate secondary pedestals and meter boxes.
  • Must be able to read and follow prints.
  • Must be able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call-out work.

Education & Experience:

  • Valid State issued Master’s license for the state of Texas required.

Pre-Screen:

  • Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications:

  • A Driver's License is required.
  • A commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel within the State of Texas as needed, overnight or out-of-town stay may be required up to 2 weeks as needed.
