Field Office Project Manager Assistant
Scope of Work
Asplundh Construction, Corp., a national electrical construction company and division of
the Asplundh Tree Expert Co, desires to engage a Field Office Project Manager Assistant to
serve as a primary source between our Project Management and our Field Operations in
Detroit. We are looking for a candidate who is energetic and demonstrates a work history
where team goals were achieved through collaborative efforts. The Field Office Project
Manager Assistant will routinely interact with the field and must be comfortable in the
environment. The individual will be responsible for supporting our Project Manager,
Supervisors, and Regional Manager and will report directly to our Project Manager assigned
to the Detroit Edison project.

Updating job within HCSS tracking tool
Project / WO Tracking
Schedule Updates
Smartsheet Updates / Performance Metrix / Tracking

The intent will be to work a 40-hour work week though extended hours may be
necessary based on project demands. The monthly schedule will allow for flexibility
in the engagement. The Field Office Project Manager Assistant will be compensated
on an hourly basis.

Additional Guidelines:
Asplundh Construction will provide a company owned laptop for use during this
engagement. The laptop will be configured to connect to the company server or
VPN. Asplundh Construction will provide a cell phone for company use only.
Minimum Qualifications:
•

Must have a defined knowledge of the Detroit Edison Spec Book and Units
Must have a college degree in construction management, engineering, or other
related areas or equivalent business experience
•
Feels comfortable making arithmetic calculations and working with small letters
and numbers
•

Has strong analytical skills and a high degree of number acuity
Effectively communicates both in written and verbal form
Is intermediate or advanced in Microsoft Excel, experience in Smartsheet or a
similar project scheduling tool is a plus

Ability to interact in person or via phone will all levels of our organization and the
customer, from company personnel and leadership to customer administrative
positions and management

Able to analyze large volume of data and perform metrics analysis
Must be able to wear PPE as necessary.
Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.
Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work
assignments, i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold.

Must be able to traverse various terrains.
Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job
instructions/information.

Must be able to communicate with others.

Must be able to maintain attention during dangerous tasks.
Must be able to lift, move and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis,
and up to 10 pounds on a frequent basis.

Must have endurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard
eight- or ten-hour day. Must be able to work long hours and overtime during
emergencies (including holidays, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work).

Must have knowledge of heavy equipment.
Must have sufficient eyesight to judge distances and coordination to get and use the
appropriate equipment and tools.

Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
You must have transportation to and from the show up location.
Must be willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Must be able to pass a background check and Motor Vehicle Records Check (MVR).
