Street Light Installer/Technician 
This position is responsible for installing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining lighting, lighting control systems, electrical cabling, electrical services, and other components associated with street and highway lighting.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: 
  • Performs work from aerial devices to install and maintain streetlights and related equipment.
  • Operate heavy and light construction equipment such as digger derrick trucks, bucket trucks, backhoes, air compressors, generators, and all hand tools associated with the scope of work.
  • Maneuver construction equipment safely during all functions of work.
  • Excavate ground areas for the setting of poles or foundations.
  • Keep accurate logs of the job process and be an organized individual.
  • Work closely with locating companies to identify underground hazards.
  • Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and as-builts. Execute and work the plan accurately.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all persons involved in the construction process such as traffic control companies and utility partners.
  • Keep open communication with all levels of management related to all job functions.
  • Work safety near energized and hazardous equipment.
  • Work with first responders for emergency jobs such as knockdowns.
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be proficient in the use of tools, such as voltmeter, power tools, and hand tools.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Knowledge of power delivery and an ability to identify power delivery components.
  • Operate heavy equipment on and off the road safely.
Education & Experience: 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Electrical experience in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of highway lighting systems.
Pre-Screen: 
  • Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
License & Certifications: 
  • A valid DOT Medical Card is required.
  • A valid Driver's license is required. “Class A” CDL preferred.
Physical Requirements: 
  • RARE (less than 10%): climbing poles
  • OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): sitting, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs.
  • FREQUENT (up to 66%): stooping, squatting, body-twisting, manual dexterity, climbing on/off truck, gripping, reading.
  • CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): standing, walking, sense of touch, speaking clearly, seeing distant, lifting over 10 lbs to 50 lbs., seeing, reaching, range of motion, hearing-speech range, depth perception, color vision, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, lifting up to 10 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs
