Corp. Payroll Specialist
Description
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for assisting in the execution of payroll processes using Oracle Payroll systems. This role requires solid payroll experience, attention to detail, and a working understanding of compliance regulations. The Payroll Specialist supports accurate and timely payroll operations for all employees, helps troubleshoot issues within Oracle, and plays an important role supporting Oracle Fusion implementation and system improvement projects as part of a broader payroll team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with processing payroll cycles using Oracle Fusion, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries and assist with troubleshooting basic issues in Oracle Fusion Payroll.
- Work alongside HR, Finance, and IT teams to support smooth integration and operation of Oracle Fusion Payroll.
- Contribute to Oracle Fusion implementation and upgrade efforts, including participating in requirements gathering, data entry, testing, and post-implementation support.
- Help prepare payroll reports, wage statements, and benefits deductions under guidance from senior team members.
- Stay updated on payroll policies and assist with ensuring Oracle Fusion Payroll remains compliant.
- Support payroll audits and system projects as required.
- Participate in training sessions and knowledge sharing for Oracle Fusion Payroll functionalities and best practices.
- Coordinate with team members to maintain confidentiality and security of payroll data.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of payroll experience, including hands-on work with Oracle Payroll systems, preferably Oracle’s cloud based version – Fusion.
- Familiarity with multi-state payroll processing and tax regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; working knowledge of Oracle Payroll modules.
- Ability to work with confidential information responsibly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience assisting with payroll system implementations, upgrades, or process improvements within Oracle Fusion.
- Relevant payroll certifications, such as Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) in progress or completed.
- General understanding of global payroll concepts.
Work Environment and Reporting
The Payroll Specialist typically reports to the Payroll Manager or a Senior Payroll Specialist. Hybrid arrangements may be available according to company policy.
