About the Role
Asplundh Electrical Testing is seeking a Calibration Technician to join our growing team in Foxborough, MA! The Calibration Technician will be responsible for managing and executing calibration activities—both internal and external—to ensure all measurement instruments and test equipment consistently meet regulatory and quality system requirements.
This role combines hands-on technical calibration expertise with experience in process control, data integrity, and compliance with international standards. The Calibration Technician acts as a technical authority for calibration methodologies, uncertainty analysis, and traceability systems, ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement across all metrology functions.

What You’ll Do
- Perform, and verify in-lab and on-site calibrations for electrical, mechanical and thermal instruments, maintaining full traceability to NIST or equivalent standards. Travel will be required.
- Manage Fluke MET/CAL, MET/TEAM, and the Fluke Customer Portal, ensuring accuracy, version control, and data integrity of calibration records.
- Analyze calibration data for trends, measurement drift, and process capability; recommend corrective actions and process improvements.
- Prepare detailed calibration performance reports, including tracking, turnaround metrics, and equipment status summaries, using Crystal Reports and advanced Excel functions.
- Support internal and external quality audits, presenting evidence of calibration traceability, procedure validation, and instrument control.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, throughput, and customer satisfaction through data-driven process optimization.
Work will be conducted in both laboratory and on‑site environments and involves standing for extended periods, operating precision instruments, and lifting moderate weights as part of daily activities.
What You Bring
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience in calibration and metrology.
- Demonstrated proficiency in electrical measurement principles, uncertainty analysis, and traceability systems.
- Proven experience calibrating and troubleshooting a broad range of test and measurement equipment, including: Multimeters, oscilloscopes, pressure gauges, high-voltage probes, temperature sensors, transducers, environmental chambers, power supplies, and multiproduct calibrators, hipots, DLRO’s, Micro Ohmmeters, carrier equipment, insulated poles.
- Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Technical Proficiency in:
- Advanced user of Fluke MET/CAL, MET/TEAM, and Fluke Editor for automated calibration control and documentation.
- Skilled in data analysis and reporting using Crystal Reports, Excel (macros, pivot tables), and Word.
- Understanding of measurement uncertainty, calibration intervals, and equipment tolerance determination.
- Proficient with Microsoft Teams and collaborative digital tools.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills with acute attention to detail.
- Effective communication and leadership in cross-functional and customer-facing settings.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a regulated, fast-paced technical environment.
Education & Credentials
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Metrology, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Engineering (Electrical, or related technical field).
- ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) strongly preferred
- OSHA 10/30 Certification
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history
