Credit and Termination Field Technician
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates safe, high quality work practice while working as part of a team.
- Complete assigned tasks established within time frames under the direction of the Field Supervisor or Project Manager.
- Provide outstanding customer service by responding promptly and respectfully to internal and external customer needs.
- Deliver all work in an organized, timely manner following company and regulatory standards.
- Identify and report hazardous working conditions to management.
- Adhere to PUC Chapter 56 regulations and company safety polices.
- Preparation and delivery of 72 hour and 48-hour notices of intent to terminate water service for non-payment.
- Perform water service termination and restorations as required.
- Install theft deterrent devices at terminated services.
- Verify and update account information before restoration of service.
- Respond to emergency restorations as required
- Prioritize tasks effectively and work accordingly to assigned schedules.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures
- Follow all company polices, OHSA standards and mandatory safety practices.
Experience, Requirements and Abilities:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience working with or around electric, water or gas meters.
- Previous meter reading or related field experience a plus.
- Comfortable using handheld technology (Mobile Phones, Tablets).
- Interest in construction process; preference toward HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Gas Lines, Mechanical Trades, Skilled Laborer Trades, Auto Mechanic Skills, Carpentry and Telecommunications.
- Strong direction skills with the ability to read and navigate maps.
- Physical Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs., and walk at a steady pace throughout the work day.
- Valid Driver's License: Must have a clean Driving Record, free of any moving violations within the last five years and without any suspensions (for any reason); minimal non-moving violations (less than three within the last five years).
- Self-motivated with ability to work with little supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions applicable
- Professional interaction with both customers and field representatives in a proactive respectful manner.
