Overview
The Senior Manager of Financial Reporting & Analytics leads the development, execution, and continuous improvement of the organization’s financial reporting framework and analytical capabilities. This role oversees the preparation of accurate, timely, and insightful financial reports while driving data?driven decision?making across the business. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting knowledge, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to partner effectively with senior leadership and cross?functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
- Lead the preparation, review, and delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and internal reporting standards.
- Oversee consolidation processes, variance analyses, and executive?level reporting.
- Maintain and enhance reporting calendars, workflows, and governance practices.
Analytics & Insights
- Develop and manage analytical models that support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
- Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Partner with FP&A, Accounting, and business units to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Drive the adoption of data visualization tools and dashboards to improve transparency and decision?making.
Process Improvement & Systems Optimization
- Lead initiatives to streamline reporting processes, automate manual workflows, and improve data quality.
- Collaborate with IT and Finance Systems teams to enhance reporting tools, data structures, and system integrations.
- Champion best practices in financial analytics, data governance, and reporting methodologies.
Cross?Functional Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders by providing financial insights that support operational and strategic decisions.
- Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Operations, and other functions to ensure alignment on financial results and performance metrics.
- Support ad hoc analyses, scenario modeling, and executive presentations.
Team Leadership
- Manage and develop a team of analysts responsible for reporting, analytics, and data management.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in financial reporting, FP&A, or related analytical roles.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and corporate reporting processes.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience with Essbase / Smartview
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to senior leadership.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage cross?functional initiatives.
Preferred
- CPA, CFA, or MBA.
- Experience in a multi?entity or global organization.
- Familiarity with ERP and EPM systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday, Adaptive Insights).
- Experience building dashboards and automated reporting solutions.
