This role is a hybrid position based in Los Angeles, CA. Some travel will be required throughout the Aspire Los Angeles Region, with weekly on site meetings at the Aspire Los Angeles Regional Office.

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Credential Analyst, working under general supervision, reviews, analyzes, evaluates, and processes teacher qualifications for California teaching authorizations.  The senior Credential Analyst assists to ensure the compliance of the educators in our schools. This position helps to support both the organizational mission of recruiting, compliance and attracting high performing educators and our retention plan to ensure our excellent educators are highly satisfied and have the opportunity for an extended career at Aspire.    

The Senior Credential Analyst demonstrates job knowledge assuring for the effective, application, and implementation of certification processes in accordance with Title V and the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.  Incumbents receive limited supervision and perform a wide range of complex personnel technical support functions that require considerable initiative, accuracy, attention to detail as well as analytical and evaluation skills. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Review and process assigned caseload to assist with verification of teacher candidate’s credentials or permits
  • Advise candidates of required steps to obtain appropriate credential or permit
  • Correspond with applicants, teachers-in-residency, and active candidates as directed regarding requirements
  • Review, process and forward applications to the California Commission on Teacher Credentials for issuance of credentials, certificates, permits as assigned·  
  • Remains abreast of credentialing, permit and licensing requirements in accordance with Title V, education code and other applicable laws, rules and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  •   Competencies:
  • Proven ability to provide timely and meaningful financial analysis in a dynamic, high-growth work environment
  • Current knowledge and experience with California credentialing requirements
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply instructions and policies related to the credential process
  • Good analytical skills; Ability to assimilate information quickly, identify problems if applicable, and make recommendations in a timely fashion
  • Strong desire to have a positive impact on public education
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, time management, and follow-up skills; high sense of urgency; demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple projects concurrently; ability to work independently
  • Excellent people skills; ability to build relationships, maintain constant communication, and provide support to assist them in meeting their professional certification requirements
  • Positive, customer service oriented, and professional attitude and integrity
  • Experience as a teacher or with K-12 education preferred
  • Maintain security of confidential information, accurate, and updated employee records.
  • Minimum educational level:
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

  • Experience required:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a credential services department or related experience. 
  • Experience or strong interest in K-12 public education; former teacher or background in public education is a plus.
  • Physical requirements: 
    • Stand, walk or bend over, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, grasp, push, and pull. Move, lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds to shoulder height
    • Repetitive use of hands (i.e. fine manipulation, simple grasping, and power grasping)
    • Demonstrate normal depth perception
    • Sitting, walking or standing for extended periods of time
    • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, operate standard office equipment, and use a telephone
  • See and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without vision aids
  • Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone with or without auditory aides
  • Work authorization requirements: 
  • Clear the Department of Justice background screening
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Provide health (TB) clearance (most update every four years)

The pay range for the Sr. Credentials Analyst position is:

$82,000 - $105,265
