The Business Manager is responsible for overall business operations of the school site. This position reports to the Principal, but works closely with all levels within the school and home office as well as with children, parents, and outside consultants/vendors. 

What You Will Do: 

  • In an administrator capacity, make decisions regarding general school matters to assist principal on a campus exceeding 400 students, and manage confidential information appropriately
  • Manage all aspects of the Student Information System and administrative functions ensuring integrity of student demographics, health, scheduling, and academic data
  • Maintain student files, ensuring they are complete, accurate, and properly organized
  • Manage all aspects of student enrollment and attendance reporting and maintain accurate electronic and hard copy records
  • Assist Principal in student recruitment activities such as outreach, advertising, and information sessions
  • Oversee and organize free/reduced lunch program
  • Serve as bookkeeper for school. Collect and process payments for a variety of events such as lunch deposits, donations, and fundraisers according to Aspire policy and best practices
  • Manage vendor relationships such as those with landlord, local fire departments, copier services, and building safety contractors, etc.
  • Manage office and other classified staff and assist Principal in hiring, discipline and performance management
  • Train, develop and appraise non-teaching staff effectively; take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy; consult with Human Resources as appropriate
  • Responsible for school administrative functions/tasks as dictated by school site and home office deliverables; work with outside vendors, manages front office, and develops necessary communications internally and externally.
  • Research a variety of topics such as best practices, policies, education codes for the purpose of completing school site operational tasks, and providing information or addressing a variety of administrative requirements.
  • Act as the main point of contact for internal, external, and Home Office stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, Aspire Public Schools mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.

What You Will Bring: 

  • 6+ years in a fast-paced, ever changing administrative position; experience in a school environment preferable
  • B.A. Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Fluency in Spanish - highly desirable
  • Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work with constant interruptions and remain focused; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; learn new procedures and upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Professional appearance and manner
  • Supervisory experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, network printing, copiers and fax machines
  • Knowledge of Ed Code preferable (or interest in learning)

Compensation:
$71,083-$99,764 based on years of experience.
