JOB SUMMARY
The Credential Services Manager, with strong problem-solving and system-building skills, proactively provides solutions that ensure teachers’ credentials and other school-based educators’ authorizations comply with our schools. In partnership with the Director of Talent, the Credential Services Manager cultivates candidates for school site positions, building pipelines of diverse, high-quality candidates. The  Manager supports hiring and talent strategies by partnering with the Talent team to attract high-performing educators. They will work closely with Regional Leaders, Principals, and Teachers to provide timely and digestible information that prompts decision-making and action. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Credentialing Systems & Process Management:
    Lead the development, execution, and optimization of the credentialing process across Aspire, ensuring alignment with organizational and regional goals—leverage technology to enhance operational efficiency and improve the user experience.


  • Operational Efficiency & Client Service:
    Oversee the credentialing operations to ensure smooth, timely service to schools and staff. Drive improvements in operational processes and enhance school site satisfaction by addressing pain points and delivering excellent customer service.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with Regional Leaders, Principals, Teachers, and Human Resources teams. Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, demonstrating flexibility and tact as needed.

  • Training & Policy Updates:
    Provide training workshops, orientation sessions, and one-on-one consultations for educators and school leaders on credentialing policies, certification changes, and new regulations. Ensure all relevant stakeholders are informed and compliant with credentialing standards.

  • Credentialing Requirements & Compliance:
    Continuously evaluate the credentialing qualifications required for all educational staff, proactively identifying and addressing any compliance gaps. Offer creative solutions to ensure Aspire remains compliant with state and federal regulations.

  • Assist Regional Teams
    Assist regional teams in preparing for audits, reporting, and compliance.

  • Advisory Role:
    Advise teachers, teacher-in-residency candidates, and school leaders on credentialing requirements, including permits, exams, and coursework. Keep stakeholders informed about upcoming changes in credentialing law and provide guidance on necessary steps for compliance.

  • Submission & Liaison Duties:
    Ensure timely submission of credentialing applications to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) for teachers, administrators, and staff. Serve as the main point of contact between Aspire and credentialing agencies, including CTC and the California Department of Education.

  • Continuing Education & Audit Preparation:
    Attend state and county-level credentialing workshops to stay current on regulatory changes. Proactively assist regional teams in preparing for credentialing audits to ensure full compliance.

  • Travel & Relationship Building:
    Consistent travel to regional schools for in-person meetings with educators, training sessions, and relationship-building activities. Ensure ongoing engagement and support for credentialing compliance across multiple locations.

  • Mission & Values Alignment:

  • Additional Duties:
    Perform other related duties as assigned to support Aspire’s goals and operations.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education & Experience:

Education: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Teaching, Human Resources, or a related field, preferred.
Experience:
  • At least 5 years of credentialing experience in K-12 education or charter schools.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in building and managing systems and processes across organizations.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources, Recruitment, or People Services experience
  • Experience or strong interest in public education, particularly in a charter school context, is preferred.

Our salary schedule is based on years of experience for this position type; the salary range for this position is $94,696 - $121,563
