Summary
Ashoka seeks an entrepreneur/intrapreneur to lead the organization’s wide-ranging functions & operational initiatives in pursuit of Ashoka’s Everyone a Changemaker vision. The Leadership Group Member (LGM) for Global Operations will be a key member of Ashoka’s global senior executive team, working closely with other leaders to integrate strategy setting & performance management across the organization, guiding global operations and the Finance, IT, Integrity, and Talent teams. In addition, they will create new systems that lead to growth and greater effectiveness for the organization and our mission and vision.
Responsibilities
Accountability for a focused, cost-effective Global Operation consistent with Ashoka’s strategy, including:
o Management within the organization (i.e., OKRs, a Global Operational Health Check, etc.) including data collection, analyses, and recommendations
o Approval and management of Ashoka’s Global Shared Service (GSS) budgets and operations
o Management oversight of Ashoka’s processes for recruiting, retaining, and growing our human capital around the world
o Leadership of Ashoka’s Finance Team ensuring best practices globally
o Primary Accountability Partnership (AP) to Ashoka’s GSS teams including Global Finance, Global Talent, Global Staffing, Global Planning & Budgeting, Global DEI, Global Integrity, Global Search, Global Search Excellence, ITI, Executive Office and Global Partnerships, ensuring that associated staff are
· accountable for the delivery of high-quality shared services to our distributed constituents
· organizing to maximize efficiency – maintaining favorable outcomes while reducing costs in the context of best practices
· optimally retained in a manner that gains credibility to disrupt ineffective operations and grows Ashoka’s GSS capabilities over time
o Bridge-building to Diamond (i.e., Regional), Purpose and core constituency teams; ensuring that support workers fully “get” and are integrated with Ashoka’s strategy and work in the world
o Compliance of all the organization’s operations with applicable regulations and best practices
Candidate Profile
Candidates should have the following characteristics and experience:
o Executive leadership experience (CEO, President, Executive Director, etc.) and/or Program Leadership within Ashoka’s global operation and/or functional management
o 10+ years’ experience in entrepreneurial /intrapreneurial and operational leadership in complex, global environments
o Proven ability to lead through influence, management, and exceptional communication skills
o Demonstrated skills in managing operations, deliverables and performance in a fast-paced, agile environment
o A canny ability to get teams aligned, speaking the same language, and helping each other to succeed
o Strong management, technical, problem solving, and organizational skills
