Senior Database Engineer
American Specialty Health, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Database Developer/Engineer to join our Information Technology Operations department. This position will provide high quality Design and T-SQL code to your Agile teams. Open lines of communication with the application engineers and your fellow database team members. High quality of work and communicating as accurate a timeline as possible.

· Modeling tables and databases, and independently providing solutions to your customer, without the need for guidance.
· Shredding and understanding older code without the need to know everything about a business process is imperative. Re-engineering older SQL Server 2008 solutions into a better performing 2016 solution.
· Mentoring Application Developers on the best way to accomplish a goal.
· Performance Tuning SQL Server 2008 code by either better code or moving the solution to a SQL Server 2016 solution.
· Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or equivalent experience. If equivalent experience, high school diploma required.
· T-SQL Master with a minimum 5-8 years of T-SQL coding experience. Familiar with SQL Server 2008 all the way through SQL Server 2016.
· Experience as a team member in the Agile process.
· SQL Server Certifications not necessary.
· Modeling tables, databases, and finding innovative solutions to problems independently and without guidance. Conform to Database standards and documenting of code.
· Ability to make good decisions to protect our customer data and the integrity of the databases.
· Expert at performance tuning and understand tricks of the trade to get that accomplished.
· Pride in getting the job done and take responsibility for getting your teams goals accomplished. Pride in getting it done right the first time is your goal.
· Assist with recruiting employees to both our team and to ASH in general.
· Experience with change control systems (TFS preferably).
· Knowledge of implementing CICD and how to use both JSON and XML inside SQL Server 2016.
· Demonstrated ability to interact in a positive, respectful manner and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
· Ability to display excellent customer service to meet the needs and expectations of both internal and external customers.
· Excellent listening and interpersonal communication skills to identify critical core competencies based on success factors and organizational environment.
· Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, multi-task and manage time.
· Demonstrated accuracy and productivity in a changing environment with constant interruptions.
· Demonstrated ability to analyze information, problems, issues, situations and procedures to develop effective solutions.
· Ability to exercise strict confidentiality in all matters.
Primarily sedentary, able to sit for long periods of time.
Ability to speak, see and hear other personnel and/or objects. Ability to communicate both in verbal and written form. Ability to travel within the facility. Capable of using a telephone and computer keyboard. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
