Associate Software Engineer (Remote)
American Specialty Health Incorporated is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join our growing organization. Remote Worker Considerations:
Candidates who are selected for this position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home in a designated work area with company-provided technology equipment.
- Assist in developing and maintaining software applications using latest Microsoft technologies.
- Assist in development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of software applications
- Perform routine programming assignments under Manager’s supervision
- Perform elementary fact finding and analysis concerning a specified work process or business need.
- Demonstrate understanding of departmental procedures, programming standards, and all pertinent training materials.
- Unit testing as applicable
- Bachelor’s degree (employer will accept post-secondary academics and/or work experience that is evaluated as equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree) in an Information Technology (IT) or Computer related field. High school diploma required.
- Minimum six months software programming experience, including object oriented development, working with relational databases, and writing SQL queries or stored procedures required or successful completion of programming internship
- Software programming experience including object oriented development
- Experience with web development programming in a client/server setup
- Experience with relational database design, writing queries and stored procedures with MySQL or Microsoft SQL
- Demonstrated ability to interact in a positive, respectful manner and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Ability to display excellent customer service to meet the needs and expectations of both internal and external customers.
- Excellent listening and interpersonal communication skills to identify critical core competencies based on success factors and organizational environment.
- Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, multi-task and manage time.
- Demonstrated accuracy and productivity in a changing environment with constant interruptions.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze information, problems, issues, situations and procedures to develop effective solutions.
- Ability to exercise strict confidentiality in all matters.
Primarily sedentary, able to sit for long periods of time.
Ability to speak, see and hear other personnel and/or objects. Ability to communicate both in oral and written form. Ability to travel within the facility. Capable of using a telephone and computer keyboard. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
