We are looking for: 

We are looking for Lighting Designers and Lighting Operators to join our talent network to be considered for future opportunities onsite in the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, WA, and Austin, TX. 

This role works on a per-project basis. Sometimes projects are one day, sometimes longer. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the Director, Producer, Sound Designer, and / or client to understand the visual requirements of each production. 

  • Responsible for the successful operation of all lighting equipment and adjustments, for both in-room and broadcast requirements. 

  • Ensure all fixtures and equipment are working and programmed properly. 

  • Program cues and changes to lighting looks, as needed. 

  • Follow lighting plots and drawings, when required. 

  • Follow the run-of-show document to ensure smooth show flow. 

  • Conduct rehearsals, with talent and the production team, making necessary adjustments to equipment setup and cue sheets. 

  • Take direction from the stage manager or show caller to ensure all cues are executed as intended. 

  • Give suggestions and advice on lighting changes, when appropriate. 

  • Perform checks before every performance to guarantee optimal quality. 

  • Rigging and connection of additional equipment, when necessary.
     

 

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Minimum 5 years experience as an LD and / or Operator, preferably for large or high profile events. 

  • Experience in live event corporate and theater settings, working with high level talent. 

  • Extensive experience with various lighting tools (fixtures, rigging, dimmers, gels, etc.) 

  • Deep knowledge and troubleshooting abilities with DMX and other protocols. 

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of broadcast and production technology, including but not limited to ETC Colorsource 20 Lighting Console & Studio Fixtures, Paradigm touchscreen Controller, ETC Paradigm Architectural Control Processor, GrandMA (2&3) Consoles, Ayrton Diablo-TC Moving Light Fixture, and Chroma-Q ColorForce II. 

  • Excellent control room demeanor, proven leadership skills, team-first attitude and the ability to handle pressure in a fast paced environment. 

  • Ability to interface with both technical and creative members of the event production ecosystem. 

  • Excellent communication skills. 

 

Compensation & Benefits: 

This part-time position offers a range between $55-85/hr, depending on experience.
