We are looking for:
The Senior Production Operations Resource Manager is a multi-faceted role serving as the lead and expert for all resource operations for Production roles within a specific region. They are responsible for the smooth running of ASG’s Flex Workforce and other scalable services, including coordination and dispatch of resources, financial tracking, roster management, providing local expertise for the assigned region, as well as permit acquisition and recommendations for service providers, when needed.
This role serves as a key stakeholder and liaison within the organization to ensure the quality, continuity, and viability of all Managed Services’ scalable production services within the US western region.
Job Responsibilities:
- Expert and main point-of-contact for all Production needs and talent within the region.
- Work directly with internal and external clients and other full-time team members to facilitate the scheduling and coordination of personnel on a project-by-project basis to fulfill staffing needs, making talent recommendations.
- Serve as people manager for full-time embedded & scalable resource talent - determining availability, confirming bookings, and managing deployment and success.
- Build strong rapport with members of the department, in addition to partnering with functional and operational leadership, including Finance, Human Resources, IT, Account Managers, etc. and/or key vendor client contacts.
- Lead in data & reporting metrics on a regular monthly and quarterly basis, at an executive level, including creating slide decks, spreadsheets, & other reports.
- Lead performance management for staff including setting expectations, monitoring performance of staff, and collaborating with Human Resources for any performance issues such as corrective actions, performance improvement plans, etc. Ensure performance appraisals are completed and documented appropriately.
- Lead the process of ensuring employees are trained and educated on policies and employment standards, working closely with HR and the Learning and Development teams.
- First line of support to manage escalations, troubleshoot personnel issues and provide win-win solutions and recommendations. Collaborate with Human Resources to resolve escalated employee relations matters.
- Understand client needs and always stay updated on client operations to ensure appropriate talent fit.
- Evaluate talent portfolios to judge experience and skills when interviewing and making placement decisions, ensuring the right talent for client project needs.
- Maintain an extensive network of resources and partner team contacts, proactively sourcing new talent to fit forecasted needs.
- Administer rate cards for staff, and work with Human Resources to create job descriptions, classifications, and salary ranges.
- Lead in shaping resource management tools, systems, and templates- constantly striving to improve processes and workflow standardization.
- Reconcile resources’ hours worked against projected time and cost estimates, providing approval hours, timecards, invoices, & expenses.
- Lead in maintaining project management & roster database systems, always ensuring validity and accuracy.
- Assist in coordination, scheduling, and closeout process on projects, gathering feedback from clients about the talent and quality of the services provided
- Build and maintain talent portfolios, working with employees to keep skills updated.
- Develop positive relationships with and maintain a regional database of partner teams and resources who can be utilized as needed.
- Obtain Certificates of Insurance & permits for projects, when required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Associate’s degree, or higher, in Audio, Video, Broadcasting, or equivalent experience.
- 10 years or more experience working in the production industry; studio, events, virtual.
- 5 years or more experience as a resource manager, ideally with experience leading & growing teams in which operational strategy meets human capital initiatives.
- Advanced understanding of production workflows and operational processes and procedures.
- Extensive hands-on experience with creative and/or multimedia production, preferably with a large, corporate entity or commercial institution.
- Extensive experience with resource scheduling & tracking software.
- Experience maintaining and tracking budgets.
- Advanced knowledge of Google Workspace & Microsoft tools: Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Slides, Word, Excel, Outlook, Calendar, and MS Teams.
- Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems. JobVite experience preferred.
- Must be commutable to either the SF Bay Area or Los Angeles metro areas.
- Some travel required to ASG major markets: SF Bay Area, Los Angeles, Seattle, & Austin
Compensation & Benefits:
This full-time role offers an annual salary of $130,000-$160,000 depending on experience.
