We are looking for:

Our Global Event Operations Team is seeking an Event Technician/Engineer to support operations, coordination, and event execution at our Santa Monica campus.  Working closely with the Santa Monica-based Technical Producers and other vendor technicians, you will interface directly with our internal partners to support the technical aspects of their events and services. Ideal candidates are passionate about technology, production management, and customer service.

The technician/engineer should have a broad audio-visual skill set and have experience operating and supporting video conferencing platforms, Crestron control systems, digital audio mixers, wireless microphone management, and hardware video switchers. In addition to operating equipment, technicians will be required to communicate effectively with presenters and interact with event stakeholders. Technicians will also be expected to undertake day-to-day administrative tasks, as well as document audio-visual systems and create user guides. The technician will report to the Technical Producers on Global Event Operations, who will provide weekly schedules for events and maintenance.

Key Software & Systems:

  • Event Platforms: Zoom, Google Meet, StreamShark.
  • AV Systems: Ross, SSL, Analog Way, VMIX, Streamdeck, Opengear, PTZ cameras.
  • Supporting Tools: KVM, recording devices, caption encoders, LED processors, network switches.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate virtual event platforms and manage technical run-of-show, including live video switching between pre-recorded and live presenters.
  • Configure, operate, and troubleshoot AV systems (audio, video, streaming, and signal flow) across Crestron, hardware mixers, and production consoles.
  • Onboard, support, and manage remote presenters and VIP participants with professionalism and strong customer service.
  • Operate PTZ cameras, VMIX, and related control systems during live events.
  • Prepare and quality check creative and technical assets; ensure correct configuration and smooth playback.
  • Set up redundancy systems and execute contingency workflows to maintain uninterrupted productions.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with the Global Event Operations Team, production crew, and executives.
  • Document event processes, communications, and technical workflows in centralized platforms (e.g., Jira); develop user guides and training materials.
  • Perform additional AV and production duties as required.

Required Qualifications & Experience: 

  • 4+ years of technical production in live events, broadcast, or corporate AV environments.
  • 2+ years of customer-facing technical support experience.
  • Strong knowledge of audio/video signal flow, macOS & Windows, and GSuite.
  • Proficient in presentation tools (Keynote, Google Slides, PowerPoint).
  • Effective communicator, adaptable across crew roles, and confident interfacing with executive-level speakers.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with advanced production equipment: Ross Ultrix/Carbonite/Ultritouch, SSL Audio Consoles, Analog Way Aquilon, Panasonic PTZ, Opengear, Clearcom, Streamdeck, Disguise, GrandMA3.
  • Familiarity with CAD/drafting software and network switch troubleshooting.
  • Professional certifications in AV/production technologies.
  • Experience in start-up or tech-driven event environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical production, media, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs; valid driver’s license.

Compensation & Benefits:

This role is paid an hourly rate of $65 - $85/ HR, depending on experience.
