What You’ll Do as a Senior Software Engineer at Arteris
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to contribute across our suite of hardware security verification solutions. This is a broad engineering role for someone who can work across multiple technical areas, learn unfamiliar parts of the system, and expand into adjacent product areas as priorities evolve.
Reporting to Senior Engineering Manager (Devops and Security Solutions), this individual contributor will design, implement, debug, and improve software used in complex semiconductor design and verification workflows. The role spans modern C++ development, algorithms, product integration, scripting, testing, performance optimization, and supporting engineering infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, debug, and maintain software components across Arteris’s hardware security product suite.
- Develop product functionality in modern C++, with supporting tools and workflows in Python, Tcl, shell, or similar languages.
- Improve product correctness, runtime performance, memory efficiency, scalability, reliability, and debuggability.
- Investigate complex issues involving application behavior, HDL semantics, design data, performance, and tool interoperability.
- Develop and improve algorithms, data structures, automated tests, and regression coverage for large semiconductor designs.
- Integrate security products with internal technologies, third-party EDA tools, customer environments, and design workflows.
- Contribute to existing build, test, CI, regression, and developer-infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with engineering, applications, research, and product teams to translate requirements into maintainable software.
- Participate in technical design, code review, implementation planning, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience developing and debugging software in modern C++.
- Strong programming, debugging, algorithms, data structures, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with EDA, semiconductor design, hardware verification, static analysis, compilers, simulation, synthesis, or formal verification.
- Experience developing complex technical software where correctness, performance, memory usage, and reliability matter.
- Experience working in Linux environments with compilers, debuggers, profilers, build systems, and command-line tools.
- Practical experience with Python or another scripting language for product development, testing, automation, or engineering tools.
- Experience navigating and modifying an established C++ codebase and maintaining automated tests.
- Ability to investigate problems spanning multiple software components and technical domains.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and contribute across a broad product stack.
- Based in Kraków, Poland.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience optimizing runtime, memory footprint, concurrency, or scalability in large C++ applications.
- Experience with graph analysis, data-flow analysis, dependency analysis, logic analysis, or similar algorithms.
- Experience with Python, Tcl, Bash, Perl, CMake, Make, Autotools, Bazel, or related engineering tools.
- Experience integrating technical software with third-party tools, libraries, APIs, or file formats.
- Familiarity with hardware security analysis or security-oriented verification.
- Experience contributing to CI, build automation, regression systems, or developer tooling.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-sufficient, proactive, and able to execute on cross-team initiatives.
- Results-oriented mindset and attention to detail.
- Language(s) Requirements: Fluent English
Education Requirements
