We are seeking a detail-oriented and capable Assistant Accountant to support our Asia Finance team in handling Asia finance responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with experience in month-end activities, daily accounts payable entries, and bank reconciliations. You will swiftly develop an understanding of the business operations to take responsibility for your tasks as well as providing support to the wider Finance team. Due to the continued growth of the business, we are looking for a passionate, dynamic, and ambitious accountant with an innovative approach to join our Finance team at Argus.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Month-End Activities:
Prepare and post accrual journal entries.
Perform bank reconciliations.
Calculate and post depreciation entries.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
2. Daily Activities:
Process daily accounts payable and journal entries.
Record daily bank entries.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
3. Coordination and Liaison:
Coordinate with auditors for periodic audits.
Liaise with the Asia finance team to ensure compliance with regional financial policies and procedures.
4. ERP System Management:
Utilize NetSuite for financial processing, reporting and data management.
Ensure accurate data entry and system updates.
5. Tax Compliance:
Basic knowledge of Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Tax Deducted at Source (TDS).
Assist in the preparation and filing of GST and TDS returns.
Qualification and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in accounting.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Knowledge of regional financial regulations and compliance.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively with a clear sense of urgency.
Attention to detail.
Self-motivated, flexible and performance orientated.
Experience with financial audit desirable.
Strong IT skills, particularly Excel. Experience with ERP systems desirable, ideally with Oracle NetSuite.
