Job Purpose

We are looking for an editor to launch coverage of the voluntary carbon market. Location is flexible across Argus offices in Europe and the US.

This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical, inquisitive, numerate and literate voluntary carbon market analyst, consultant, broker, project developer or policy expert to transfer their skills and knowledge to a price reporting, news and analysis business. You will be given the space to lead the development of a new product, drawing upon your market experience and Argus’ deep experience of producing news, analysis and market pricing across a range of commodity markets.

You will have strong knowledge of the voluntary carbon markets and a network of contacts in the industry. You will develop your skills in a role that combines data-driven analysis with traditional relationship-based reporting.

Your role will include hiring and leading a small team of reporters and analysts globally, who are responsible for writing news articles and market analysis, as well as assessing prices. You will also take responsibility for ensuring the assessment methodology is followed and updated as markets evolve. You will lead consultations with market participants where necessary and are the first point of contact for any queries regarding pricing and methodology.

You will collaborate with Argus’ established, market leading reports in other commodities including oil products, sustainable aviation fuels, LNG and compliance carbon markets to create products that explain the complex voluntary carbon market to new participants.  You will help develop the analysis and fundamental datasets available to clients and ensure our product helps our clients achieve their goals.

The environment is fast-paced but values careful thought. You will enjoy collaborative work with colleagues from a range of backgrounds, many located in Argus’ other offices around the globe.

There are opportunities to travel and attend industry events,  as well as to present at industry conferences and lead webinar sessions.
