Job Purpose

Companies in 140 countries as well as multilaterals like the International Energy Agency (IEA) use Argus data to index physical trade and as benchmarks in financial derivative markets as well as for analysis and planning purposes.

 

Our Consulting business has been growing significantly over the last few years and need a Manager to lead bespoke projects and provide thought leadership in key petroleum and biofuels sectors. The principal focus of the role would be to work with the consulting team based out of India to execute and deliver a wide range of consulting assignments for clients in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. The Manager will structure the project delivery whilst guiding the junior staff on research methodology whilst also being actively involved in the delivery of Argus’ advisory services. The Manager would also be involved in the development and the execution of multiclient studies or annual publications from time to time. Apart from the Manager’s consulting team in India, he / she will tap on the expertise of consultants and product or industry specialists in our global consulting community in London, US and Moscow as well as our network of third-party consultants.

 

As the key consulting person on the ground in India, the Manager, along with Argus’ consulting leaders in Singapore, would formulate a strategy for growing the business in India.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Execution of single and multi-client products.
  • Ensuring that the quality of the product meets Argus’ standards.
  • Participation in client discussions during project execution.
  • Development of in-house consulting tools and analytics in support of consulting projects.
  • Assist in the development of proposals and marketing materials on specific consulting opportunities.
  • Assist in developing presentation materials and if required, deliver presentations on public conferences.

Skills and Experience

  • Master/Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Chemical engineering or Economics. Highly numeric
  • 6 to 10 years of work experience in energy, oil & gas sector. 
  • Experience in commodities research and analysis is a bonus.
  • Knowledge of model building that would enable guiding a team of analysts would be looked upon favourably.
  • Client-facing experience.
  • Sound communication skills, be they written or verbal.
  • Some experience having led a team.
  • Keen awareness of cultural differences.
